Gads, that sounds so nasty.  Must have the luck of the Irish over in this corner as I have yet to run into a problem with W10.  Had problems with upgrades, not so much with complete DLs.  In any case, hope it all works out.

By the way, am SERIOIUSLY knocking on wood.  And the echoes are really beginning to hurt!!!!!

To be fair (and I do try to be fair as at one point in my life I sold operating systems, too), it was a tactical problem rather than anything to do with the Windows 10.

Now my first Blue Screen of Death in six years was indeed a Windows 10 / Dell problem.  But that one was more of a "just don''t do that" (writing to an SD card to put into a Raspberry Pi) as opposed to, say, trying to render an image.
Or were you talking about something further back in the thread?

Good Evening!   And thanks for all the nice replies folks.  It was indeed a very nice surprise, as I was about to request a different doctor....no kidding there.  We did spend half an hour talking through the various issues that make the deep digging necessary, and what makes it clear up.   I accept that it can still happen in the future.  One of the perils of MY diabetes.   Anyway.   Next month the Endo will give me an A1C verdict.  I already know it will be better than last time, but how much is yet to show.  :) 

My latest game fix will end in a few days.  DEFIANCE!  will be shut down completely.  Sigh.  Not a bad game, will miss it.   It is a MMO shooter.   If anyone remembers the SciFy channels Defiance!  With Grant Bowler, Julie Benz, Jami Murray, Stephanie Leonidas and others, the TV series and MMO game started the same day.  The series ended in less than 3 years.  The game continues till the 29th this month.  Then...kaput!  I am buying all 2.6 seasons of the TV show.  DID buy the two seasons of Westworld, with Anthony Hopkins.  That was cool!   With "Hosts" that were essentially high end androids.   Defiance suffered from unimaginative writing after the 1st season.   Now THAT is just sad!  Sheesh!

I thought that W10 had disobeyed my registry hack.  Turns out, it did not.  But a ridiculously tiny STOOPID utility program decided it just had to restart the system after it updated itself with no warning at all.  It no longer exists in my system and ASUS has heard more from me about it than they wanted to I am sure.  But, nobody does that kinda thing without my express KNOWING permission.   That shall never be implied.Fancy utility be damned.

HipShot, I had a little 86 Toyota Celica GTS coupe, drove that for 7 years, then gave it to eldest daughter.  Too low for me to easily  get up OUT of.  Getting it was easy, just grab roof swing in and drop!  The roof came up to my waist.  Yeah, looked all kinds of funny when me and family went someplace.  They all fall outta high up trucks, me, tallest of the bunch, climb out of the lowest car in the lot.   IT went flying a few times too.  Poor little thing.   I was on I-45 N headed up to sons high school graduation.  I was doing 70, just cruising easy.  This white and beige flash zoomed by me doing over 100 easy.  5 mins later, I see him and 3 state trooper patrol cars with him pulled over.  Heh!  I slowed and eased into the far lane, give em plenty of room.   I didn't laugh at him, by all rights, I should have been in his shoes many times, and was not.

My old Jeep.  It's been a good car, and I do make sure to keep up with its maintenance.  All machines need maintenance.   No such thing as truly permanently lubed, specially with engines and transmissions and differentials!   Parts wear out, it's simple.  Replace em when needed.   :)

Hi McG....I'm just about ready to head out but I'll be back in tomorrow for a bit. Got a busy day planned....Gonna be in the high 50's and no rain...want to get some of the yard stuff done...

PS....  Like you McG...I thought the last update from windows was going to kill the computer but I'll give them credit...They pinpointed the utility that was bogging things down and after clearing it...all went well.  I don't bother trying to figure anything out myself anymore...I don't get paid to think like they do LOLOLOL
