Thanks McGrandpa. I don't think we ever got to know each other before I had to leave but I was a member here about 15 years ago.

Does that affect your weather?
It's possible. Years ago and in February, there were rains with sand.
And for what I remember, sand is part of hurricanes. Not that we can have one from Sahara. But it can participate with our storms. And we are still with a thunderstorm alert.

I know the sun going toward the sunset can give some different colors. Yet suddenly for a long moment we have had a yellow, very yellow, color for the sky and light. I suspect we have again sand of Sahara in our clouds. Like in February.

Does that affect your weather?

Wonder what can jump in your mind after a pizza party  :ifonly:

Excellent end of day guys
I talked it over with Merlina and she is of the opinion that it is none of my bloody business!  Her and the girls have been heading out to the woods with some nefarious(?) plans in mind.  We shall see.

Right, 'ere we go.  Roll cross country and go through the ditch . . . fire main gun to look . . . Oooops.  Is it supposed to do that?

I may take mine down just in case......

Jul 24, 2021 — The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources said the unidentified illness has not been linked to any bird deaths in Wisconsin.

Stanley Temple, a UW-Madison Professor Emeritus of Wildlife Ecology, says summer illnesses in birds are not uncommon.

"These kind of late summer die-offs in bird populations are actually quite normal," said Temple.

He says it's the cause and magnitude of this particular illness that is alerting local ornithologists.

"It's still a bit of a mystery about what is causing the die-off," said Temple. "It's not particularly surprising that it's happening."

Both Temple and Reetz say more people have become interested in bird feeding during the pandemic.

"A lot of people actually turned to birds in this last year as a source of respite and joy," said Reetz.

Temple says Wisconsin is a bird-loving state.

"Wisconsin and Madison have a higher percentage of households feeding birds than elsewhere in the country," said Temple. "People are just more in tune with keeping their bird feeders filled and watching what's happening because they've been doing it for years."

The bird disease is already here in Pennsylvania.  We've taken down all of our feeders.  The birds keep coming and looking at the spots, however.
