Well, on a good note....(or maybe not according to the docs)...I'm not much of a eater anyway.  So give me a good plate of Italian food and I'm a happy camper....

And believe me.....I've worn out my checker board also  :tearlaugh:

thelufias

Believe me...I've tried my share of unpronouncables and discovered I was right in my theory.....Most were horrible so I went with my "I know what the is" menu from then on

Sounds horrible but actually quite tasty as long as you don't think about the ingredients.....

Haggis

1 sheep stomach
1 sheep liver
1 sheep heart
1 sheep tongue
1/2 pound suet, minced
3 medium onions, minced
1/2 pound dry oats, toasted
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon dried ground herbs
Directions
Rinse the stomach thoroughly and soak overnight in cold salted water.

Rinse the liver, heart, and tongue. In a large pot of boiling, salted water, cook these parts over medium heat for 2 hours. Remove and mince. Remove any gristle or skin and discard.

In a large bowl, combine the minced liver, heart, tongue, suet, onions, and toasted oats. Season with salt, pepper, and dried herbs. Moisten with some of the cooking water so the mixture binds. Remove the stomach from the cold salted water and fill 2/3 with the mixture. Sew or tie the stomach closed. Use a turning fork to pierce the stomach several times. This will prevent the haggis from bursting.

In a large pot of boiling water, gently place the filled stomach, being careful not to splash. Cook over high heat for 3 hours.

Serve with mashed potatoes, if you serve it at all.
I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by.

Chocolate Gravy & Biscuits My stepmother actually made this for us when we were kids.....

Biscuits: 1 or 2 cans of "whop" biscuits (these are the ones that come in the little tube at the store and you have to "whop" them on the counter to open the tube.) Bake as directed.

Chocolate Gravy:
3 tablespoons of flour
2 tablespoons of cocoa powder
4 tablespoons of granulated sugar
2 cups of milk
2 tablespoons of butter
1 teasoon of vanilla

Mix dry ingredients in shallow pan on stovetop until they're completely combined. Add milk and stir. Cook on medium to medium high heat until it bubbles and thickens. Add butter and vanilla. Stir. Chunk up biscuits and pour chocolate gravy over the top. Enjoy!
