I create a new folder and name it as "whatever", and then I unzip my content into it, Poser will create its own folders as needed.

You're absolutely correct my friend! Normally I do it that way, but as I was explaining to Ray on the phone the other night....it has always worked except on the Win10 machine. I have to manually do it else Poser spits out a "Poser failed to create files" error. Only happens on Win10 and none of the other computers!

One would hope as I have sent you the same details on at least three occasions.

Second that notion

It looks like the only difference between how you create a custom runtime and how I have done occasionally.

Is sometimes I create a new folder and name it as "whatever", and then I unzip my content into it, Poser will create its own folders as needed.

On another occasion I just unzipped it straight into a folder that WinZip created as I specified the name in the directions as to where to install it at.

Everything else is done exactly the same way and like yourself have been doing for more then a few iterations of Poser.

You're very welcome! Told ya I would share...just took me a bit..lol

You know what they say..."If it's on the internet, it has to be true!"
:tearlaugh: :tearlaugh: :tearlaugh:

I would NEVER share ANYTHING from my system over the net, secure network or not! That's just asking to get F***ed!

Thank you, my friend! I shall collect these a bit later and put them in my tuts folder. Very clear now as to what some part of my little issues may be.

And now ugh...... :thud: Undoing the damage. And why I've been putting it off.

Yeah, well I went to Poser help desk and got this other crap at the time it changed to use the UAC Public folders. It would be nice if Csaky ever talked to BB or SG.

Here is the method I have used to add custom Runtimes for many years now with very little issues!

NOTE: I had to redo the screenshots this morning because I screwed a couple up last night...it was late and I was half asleep at the wheel...LOL

I still screwed up in a way...there are a couple of runtimes you're not suppose to know about and I forgot to hide them. Oh well, so sue me!

Some years ago while I was creating models in 3ds Max, I was ask if I could convert my models and props in Poser formats. I hadn't even heard of Poser at that point, so I gained a copy of Poser 5 and started playing around with it.

Over the years as Poser has changed, I've kept up with the versions so that I could keep the promise I made in the beginning. I relied heavily on the advice of those who were considered to be experts in Poser as to avoid any problems.

The image below shows how I have always installed Poser Content and in doing so have had far less issues than the many of complaints I have read from other users!

Next, I'll show you how I have added custom runtimes over the years as well!
