Good morning!
Sun is shining once again and cats are very happy with that.
Our friend is back home, but need to stay very very quiet. Hope she'll listen the docs and us too on that.

The convey which started from Agen passed by Limoges. This morning, they were stopped on the A20 (a highway) by the CRS (a mix of police and military with their equipment). So the farmers destroyed a fence, passed in a field and joined a national road. They were stopped once more at the north of Limoges, at Bessine-sur-Gartempes. They don't want to fight with CRS nor police nor gendarmerie; so they opted for the plan B: going in all directions with their vehicles. They should arrive on Vierzon before the end of the day. Their goal will be Rungis.
There are farmers of all France going on Paris, but not only. Belgium and Dutch farmers are coming. They said "Keep going, we come!" There are even Italian farmers arriving in the south of our country.
It's a lot of things which pushed the ire of the farmers. What they win like money (there are winning €300 only by months and they don't count their hours). The numerous norms forced on them by European Union, when in the same time the EU makes accords such has Mercosur and farmers from other areas of the world haven't the same norms. Administration giving more and more papers to do, at the point there are farmers almost not able to work in their own fields to fulfil papers. Stupid things forced such has being watched by drones all times. Having to put their pesticids at THIS hour and not another, or they'll have a bill to pay at the State. I almost forgot the GNR (the gaz for their vehicles) for which the taxes will grow up (and like for any car owner of coure there are taxes on taxes). And so on so on...
Being daughter of a farmer (even if I'm not in contact with him since a very long time and happy of that), I don't like necessarily what they do. I never liked the kill of animals, even when I ate meat; probably because I knew the poor beasts. But for the little farmers, they have the work they have, and for many it's a vocation. All they ask is to work and win enough money to live correctly. Not being slaves of the industries; and each time they try to open a shop to sell directly in a town to people, there are so many obstacles that it's impossible.

EDIT: I just learnt that even Greek farmers are protesting in their own country.

Sounds like the Farmers all over are determined to be taken seriously!   Good for them.

Wow Aelin.....Sounds like it's going to be a long drawn out battle...But it does sound like the farmers are being shit upon.

Since this is Cheese country here in Wisconsin the majority of our farmers raise Dairy Cows.  And they are Family Farms.  And most of the Wisconsin Politicians were farm born and bred....which is good for farmers.

Farmers are so popular that our parades have more tractors then they do floats....and the floats they do have in our parades are being pulled by tractors.

Hope the outcome will be good for your Farmers......

Good Morning PDG.....Am I typing to loud?  Happy Day After.....and have another :java: ......

Morning McG....Have a safe trip and hope the adjustments work out.

And good news.....Midnight seems to have settled in pretty good so far and Mels Mom made a appointment with the vet for the 6th just to have her checked out after being outside for so long.  But she was well fed here so she's not skinny or malnourished and we fed her healthy foods...as we do with all the outside critters.

And Fafnir.....Thanks for the :java: .... as always...
