Thanks McGrandpa. I don't think we ever got to know each other before I had to leave but I was a member here about 15 years ago.

Have to admit that I am still using old Ubuntu on 2 Rasp Pis and Raspbian on the other. None go online and are mostly used as controller cards.

Raspbian is not very friendly to Gnome.  It's the native window manager on Fedora.  All my machines except two run that one.

Good morning, PDG, Fafnir, McG and Aelin.  I hope you all have a great Sunday.

Morning... Raining bere and a bitof wind. Looks like I need to get tested. Doubt I have caught it...but Mom and baby sister tested positive. Let's see about 10 AM EST I will get a text from Mom asking if I have gotten tested yet.  Sis is a cancer survivor and Mom has few issues too. So more worried about them than me. Earliest time I could find is Tuesday. They are seriously backlogged herein SC. But then again I am in a state that thinks it's a conspiracy of the Dark State lol.
What are dreams but unexpressed wishes of unmet needs.

Linux is headed in the same direction, PDG.  Gnome login screen now wants  you to "swipe up" to open the password prompt.

They're getting dorkier every dang day.  I  got me this new laptop to keep beside my bed.  Wanted it to be an extension to BadMoonRYZEN.  W10  adamantly refuses to allow them to even see each other.  M$ is being ridonkulously arsenine about a number of things these days.   Any idea how to get two W10 machines to actually talk freely with each other?
PDG, W10 sez it HAS to have that xbox gamebar for some things to work, even in Steam games.  I haven't pushed the issue around yet.  Just bought and started playing No Man's Sky in June.  Ah it will play on the Lenovo IdeaPad 3!  Hehhehheh!  Guess I'll call it Lennie.

Gamebar is gone. Never had it in W10 and I don't want it in W11. Don't have Steam. Do have the Rockstar Game Launcher as I have TBs of their games. Played GTA since the topdown original and spend hours a day playing Red Dead Online. GTA online has a few too many a$$holes for my taste but I do drop in every now and then when I want a bit of abuse to keep me in my place. I haven't had an X-BOX of any type in over a year. I have never played Minecraft (the GKs did about 5 years or so ago). I couldn't care less about showing my gaming stats. I don't care about yours. I am not having my machine sacrifice processing cycles to keep 5 minutes of live video ready for posting online at the touch of a button. I would rather have those cycles do something useful. Add the suck from this to the suck from GeForce game bar and even though I can't see a frame rate drop; I know there is one. Part of the turning my expensive computer into a cheap cell phone complaint. Like TL though; it appears rock solid and has offered no issues since the install last October.

I gave up on weather. Wake up to -30s (-20s F). Really. +3 by afternoon (37.5 F) but the wind chill still drops everything by 10 degrees so you can subtract that from the posted temps. The weather weenies keep going "Coldest temperature in 5 years". Day after day.

I could be getting anywhere from 5cm (2 in) through 50 cm (20 inches). Won't know till it hits. It will start later today. Or maybe tomorrow. It will last through Monday. It will end overnight Sunday.

I no longer drive. Everything is on lockdown. Let it snow. I'm not going anywhere and I don't have a driveway to clear. I do have a fine warm space heater and a bottle of rye. There are enough papers around that I don't need to hit the store for a week. My internet connection seems solid. I'm good to go.

Great point made TL.  Applies to other areas too!  We had the big blow move on through, finally.  The hard winds settled down, the dust storms stopped.  Whole herds of tumbleweeds crowding all the fencelines.  Glad I wasn't out in it at all.  Temp stayed in 20's all day.  Might stay there till Wednesday, then drop to mid teens.  No snow.  But clear beautiful skies,  BIG Sky!    :lost: :hypno: :flying-dove: random_dragon

Good Luck with the weather my friend...hopefully it's not going to be to rough on you...but yes....I always gather the JIC items also.

My younger brother Jimmy and his wife Carol live in a complex for the Disabled and Elderly so they have folks shovel out for them and I'm sure they went out and gathered supplies ahead of time.  But they will miss their daily walk in the beautiful park in their area.  They go everyday, weather permitting.

As for my Maine family....In Maine...if you're not prepared ALL THE TIME...then you shouldn't be living in Maine :tearlaugh:
