I've said it a number of times ....Humans are the worst thing this planet has living on it.  Just like the razing of the Amazon....the folks should be protesting against the government that lets this kind of stuff happen.....

I remember than it wasn't perfect and all wasn't saved when Assuan dam was made, but a lot of temples were moved. Including the temple of Abu Simbel, made in the rock.
So why Australia doesn't do the same for the parts with history?
