Mornin to you all  coffee cocoa and tea are ready  the girls  made biscuits and bacon for this  morning and for later on there will be  steaks  on the grill with all the fixings and tater  wedges

Well by now I think if I were going to receive emails from the sites I was having issues with, there would already have been some in my inbox. They were coming in several times each day, flooding in actually. But today, I've not seen even one from those sites. Still not sure if they have actually honored my request for them to stop sending email to me, but it does seem that way. The next few days will tell the real story about that. Again I am hoping it has stopped, but still not really expecting it.

   

Actually, the website has been shut down and hopefully the miscreants will be apprehended. But they are like the cockroaches. As soon as one is killed, about a hundred more pop up. Your best protection against these scourges is to use disposable addresses.

Good Morning to all....

PDG...that storm turned off the power for 70,000 + folks here in Southern Wisconsin.  Ours stayed on but I got some early morning visitors who had no power and camped out here.  By early morning I mean 3AM. 

They got power back on around 4PM.  I have an app on my phone for Alliant Energy (which they have since downloaded onto their cell phone) that showed all outages in Wisconsin.  Needless to say I was worn out so it was a early to bed night LOL.  Got more snow this morning and it's WINDY WINDY WINDY.

And in saying that....Thanks for the Fafnir.... Glad the back is feeling a wee bit better...

McG....Good news on the foot....I'd say stay warm but with that outfit I'm thinking you're just giving us Norhtherners a hard time LOLOL...

Yes...Yikes was the right word.  There are still schools in the Mad City area that have no power and other nearby communities also.  Monroe has full power restored according my app.  It was a VERY VERY HEAVY snow causing tree limbs to fall on power lines...that was the majority of the problem.  Add the wind to that and it was just a "Good Night Irene" moment for many.

On another note....I see where Miss Wisconsin was crowned Miss America.  Don't pay much attention to these competitions anymore but glad she won.

There are other out there, no doubt. But learning that the ones hounding me were finally shut down, is music to my ears? eyes? Whatever. LOL
A new one came in this morning supposedly from Starbucks; a supposed survey about my dealings with a company I never had any with!  I deleted it out of hand. When I create my new email address, I figure it will take a while for the miscreants to zero in on it.
As for the disposable email addresses. I have nothing going online that would make that worth doing. The sites I visit often are always the same ones, none dealing with real world business. Like I said before, I never order real life products online, choosing instead to visit the actual shops. I'm old fashioned in that way. My only online purchases are at sites like DAZ 3D, Renderosity (rarely), and The Fantasies Realm Market (part of our suite of sites). Just those three, and none else. For a short time, I was dealing with HiveWire3D, until they went belly up.
To be frank I am also old fashioned concerning virtual or software products. I have the very old MS Office 2007 business edition, so no account at Microsoft. The suite of apps that are part of that version work for me with no troubles. I subscribe to the old adage "If it ain't broken, don't fix it!" My version of Office ain't broken. LOL

I still have the old version of Office on my new computer. Like you, if it ain't broken, don't worry about it. As long as you don't allow it to make contact with the internet, you are good to go.

I know it is possible to connect with MS through it, but I've never had that need, nor will I ever.
