What lies beneath
|
Centuries ago, there were stories about half fish, half woman creatures called mermaids that lived in the sea. The ancient greeks called such creatures sirens. They were said to be so beautiful to behold, or had such wonderful voices, that men fell deeply in love with them almost instantly, and often jumped or were pulled into the water from their ships or close to shore simply to be close to them. However, once the man was in the water, the mermaids turned on him, and quite often began devouring him while he was still alive, or drowning him to be eaten at leisure.
