Beware! - SAOTW winner 02/24/24

The short dark figure emerged from the grass.

"Beware, My Lord. The Jotunn Geirrothr is somewhere in these Woods. And he sounds hungry."

With clumsy flaps of his wings, the little being rose slowly through the trees, turned and flew North.

"What is a Jotunn?" asked Olivia.

Celduin said to the back of her head, "Something to avoid."

"Who or what called you "My Lord"," Oliva wanted to know.

"The Watcher in the Wood."

This odd encounter and odder descriptions only increased Oliva's sense of unreality.

They rode on toward Celduin's camp.
