A Late Night Valentine

Lucy was sound asleep. It was long past midnight on Valentine's Day. She heard a knocking at the front door of her townhouse. Turning on the entry lights, she could see that her friend Daniel was outside, dressed to the nines. Cautiously opening the door and stepping out, she stopped in surprise. Daniel was holding a huge bouquet of roses, looking straight at her.
