Believe it or not Mother did teach most of us how to do certain things like this , I managed embroidery before the old man did his things as to this is to girly or whatever the heck his reason was, cause now I certainly would not mind having me a Dr. Who scarf all 20+ feet of it.

Yep I am self taught. I look in awe at some of the amzing things experienced crocheters can do. I love doing the granny squares too and have just done 2 baby pram blankets, one in blue and one in pink ready for our new grandbaby when it arrives as we dont know what it is yet.

I am self taught at crochet too and love making granny square afghans, mainly cause they can be made in many different colors -- unfortunately -- I find when I sit to crochet now it puts me to sleep...lol

I love to crochet and wondered if anyone else out there does too.  I like to work from U Tube tutorials which I find very helpful and I can work from pattern too.
