Thanks McGrandpa. I don't think we ever got to know each other before I had to leave but I was a member here about 15 years ago.

Welcome, and how may I help you?

Come visit with all in here, have some coffee or your favorite beverage, and have loads of fun. The bar staff and keeper are always here to fill your orders. This is our gathering place where we will share greetings, pass secrets, gossip, and enjoy each other's company.

Jherrith has agreed to fire up the grill on the weekends with some of his tasty specials.....and the COFFEE will always be hot and fresh, especially with Fafnir and his bevy of waitresses.

Been getting and working into the TBR stack, the hard science ones by authors like Michio Kaku, and Carlo Rovelli, just recently added the Knowledge in a Nutshell series, only have the one on Astrophysics and Quantum Physics at the moment. Found an interesting one yesterday called "The Invention and Discovery of the 'God Particle' Higgs" looking forward to reading it.

Been catching up on the Cthulhu Casebooks a Sherlock Holmes alternate story line by James Lovegrove.

Currently reading the Shadwell Shadows

... and of course keeping up on the manga series I enjoy

I'm glad that you did not have to try.  I learned a lot about how unstable a moving van can be when it's loaded high with boxes of books.

Your count is much higher than the last time that I checked.  Do you have new series or authors that you have enthusiasm for?

I've just finished the Repairman Jack series by F. Paul Wilson that I quite enjoyed.

I shudder to think how bad it would be to try and move, when I was about to lose my place due to the economy dump and I lost my previous job (2008) I had sort of started packing up my books to put in storage. Only got the second and part of the third bedroom packed and was at 30 boxes (medium size) and that was just books only ... "shudder" fortunately things turned around and I dodged that "alternate time line."

I was paring down the books so that we could move to our new house.  I'd already finished the study for which I had bought that collection and was facing the need for a second moving van to make the move.  I gave a lot of other books to the local library and once the books that I took to New York were gone, I could move in just two vans. :OMFG: :thud:

Jherrith

I remember back in the day (early 90's) when I used to pare down the library and donate books to the local library or university.

Took a car to do so, the "saw that coming part" I only knocked the library down to 600 volumes.

And now well, I no longer do things like that and have put serious weight on in the library :tearlaugh:

I believe Molly and I are on the same schedule.  And I have to say that a nap already sounds most welcome!
