My latest use for AI generated images is as equirectangular environments for use Poser or Blender. Can't do true hdri due to the nature of the latent diffusion models but they still work as environmental reflections and do provide lighting. Just not true hdri.

The AI tools thread I started has a method for generating them. I have refined it to work much better as the tools advance. The gnome and bird images in the gallery use this method as a starting point. The bird is one of Ken's songbirds from damn near 20 years ago and the garden gnome is a prop.

I like that you --PDG--have chimed in, your experience is beneficial to all. Just like many art programs around, many will misuse it on purpose because they can. But it can be used as a learning tool.

It's exactly like when we started in 3D and followed it up with photoshop and fine tuning.

There are just too many that think type a sentence get a picture is the way it works. That's the "Make Art" button everyone so desperately wants. After all; I started a thread to address that very fact. How to use AI tools in your traditional artwork. I put as much work in to making a decent AI generation as I do a traditional Blender or Poser piece.

I to am no believer of "What's yer prompt Brah?" It takes some knowledge and skill to get something reasonable out of AI other than the same over detailed, over saturated, over worked images most get from Midjourney and other such generators as raw output. Don't get me started on the "in the style of (insert artist name here)" crap. If you don't develop your own style over time; Using someone else will never advance you as an artist.

Anyway; I need more coffee and this is starting to sound more preachy than I originally intended. Carry on. Don't mind me. Leaving now.

Yup maybe with the search links I posted, many might try this artform, not quite like when we first tried 3D art and followed it with PS and some fine. tuning...lol
