Warning: Sumerians weren't near Mediterranean sea, but near the Persian Gulf, with communications (trade) to the Indus Valley.
Hittites were 1 or 2 millenia after them if I don't make mistake.
Romans are later compared to Hittites. But Etruscan people were in the "boot".

But you are right with your examples of ancient civilizations.
We can add Chinese East Coast too, from what I remember from my hitory lessons.

For me an ancient civilization is centered around Northern Africa, in the Sinai, and the Mediterranean where the Egyptian, Sumerians, Hittites, Greeks and Romans started early civilizations where cities and governments state or countries were first created and in Mesoamerica (North and South America) the Inca, Anasazi, and Aztecs to name a few.

  Was just thinking about all the Ancient  Stuff and Some Old Atlantis stuff popped up and I thought to my self Hum is this Ancient or is this Mythology.

Just keep in mind when creating that our judges have the final say as to what they perceive as Ancient Civilizations.....

The art itself is just one step in the selection process.  Following the Monthly Theme Write up is also taken into consideration.

Not saying that you can't use what you suggested as Ancient Rad....just saying it has to meet the criteria of the theme.

Welcome to a new month of new beginnings, actually we will be going to go back to the beginnings.

Yes, back to the dawn of time and remember and explore or just enjoy the grandeur and splendor of civilizations long past.

Granted some civilizations were not very grand or pleasant and were quite brutal, however there were some that were quite enlightened.

Your theme for the month of Mirtul is to take us back to view how life was or you can show us buildings and scenery of how it was in the distant past back in your choice of time period.
