I'm working in DS3 with that pp2 exporter - a previous version. To save the props, I simply do it in Library => Props => Aelin .
Then when all is ready, I know where to take the new pack, and once it's zipped, I only have to put it in the folder of the Props I want to find it in all times.
I do the same for pz2 and mc6 materials.

And don't forget the texture images that are needed for it in the runtime\textures folder.

When props are saved as a Daz Studio props there are also folders with data for them in the data folder and these must be also collect by hand. When we use Base Directories all is in. No need to collect anything later.

That would make so many things I have in my Runtime able to be used with their own textures in DAZ Studio. I'll have to try it out. I have done conversion of textures that were in the .mc6 format to .pz2 manually. It involves digging into the image files and converting them with a converter like Gimp to .jpg or .png. Then in Poser I would manually apply them to the model they were made for. It's an involved process for sure, taking more time that I wish to give. I don't know what the benefits of .mc6 are, if any. I do know the .pz2 works well in both Poser and DAZ Studio.

You are welcome. That would be really great to collaborate on projects. Daz Studio can't read .mc6 format but there is a converter "MC6-to-PZ2-Batch-Converter" that can convert it to .pz2 format. I never used it but we can look into it.

(EDIT June 2025: the hosting site has closed its doors in April)

I forgot to mention that the materials of the objects, that you want to export, must be in 3DL format not in Iray format. Otherwise it show an error. When you import a obj in the newer versions of Daz Studio (Daz Studio 4.12 maybe also already 4.10) it put already Iray materials on.
I'm using DS 4.10, and I work exclusively with 3DL materials. That's for my own models as well as all content that I use, whether it is from the DAZ Store or 3rd party vendors. I know how to make sure that my textures and materials are for 3DL. As DAZ cannot normally read .mc6, for Poser products I make sure that they are the other poser format, .pz2 I think.
I was hoping I got my steps right, and you just confirmed it. Thank you Petege! As for tutorials by you to help me in developing a product; I say it would be an honor, my friend. Any advice that gets me going down the right path is always welcome.
It would also be an honor to collaborate on a project or two, maybe more. It seems to me you have a lot of the same ideas that I do. I like that.
You and I both use Kibarreto's products a lot, it seems. Judging from the images you have posted in the monthly contest, you do quite well with them. I have still a lot of his stuff to grab, but I don't see it happening all at once. Still, what I have of his stuff is enough to keep me busy for a while to come.
Cheers!

These 9 steps to install it are good. It can always moved later when needed.

If you want to make a product of it then it is also possible to let the script write the content direct in a empty product structure folder. In this case all the files of that new product are already separate and you don't need to collect them yourself at the end. I can make a tutorial for that if you want.

When I create a freebie I create a new Base Directory (https://www.thefantasiesattic.net/attic/index.php?topic=25005.0) in Daz Studio where I put all the parts in that a needed already in the right folder structure. At the end, I only need  to zip that Base Directory folder and all is in. I can explain that also more if you want.

Agent0013

So just to be clear, the procedure is as follows.

1. Go to where My DAZ3D Library resides and open it. (This part is to have the folder opened while DAZ Studio does not need to be open also.)
2. In that folder find and open the Content folder.
3. Drag the window with the above in it to one side of the computer screen, and let it snap into place, filling half of the screen. (This is a personal preference step that works well for me.)
4. Open a new window and drag it to the other side of the screen, letting it snap into place, filling that half. (Now we have two windows on the screen.)
5. In the new window, navigate to where the PP2 Exporter .zip is located.
Using the zip file extractor of choice, extract the PP2 Exporter .zip to a new folder with the same name. (7Zip does this automatically if I click on that option.)
6. Open that folder, and find the Script folder.
7. Copy the Script folder, and move the cursor to the first window. (The one with My DAZ Studio Library/Content folder opened in it.)
8. Right click and paste the copied Script folder into the Content folder.
9. Open the Script folder to examine what it contains, and make sure it is all there. (Another personal preference step, as I like making sure I get things right.)

If any of the above parts of this procedure are incorrect, let me know.

What I know here is that this will put the PP2 Exporter in /DAZ Studio Formats/My DAZ3D Library/Content/Scripts. When I open DAZ Studio and get my .obj model ready for export, I would navigate through the above folder structure to find the PP2 Exporter. Then I would follow the procedure laid out in the included tutorial to successfully export my model to the .pp2 format. Once that is done, I would gather all supporting files and folders needed to make the product useful in DAZ Studio and Poser; basically setting up a Runtime folder structure. I would then copy that Runtime folder into a product folder bearing the name of the product. I would finalize it by zipping the product folder. After that I would need a content tester to see if my product works for others. I would want the tester to have both DAZ Studio and Poser. That tester would need to test the product in both applications.
I know this is a long comment, but like I said, I want to make sure I get everything right.
Let me know your thoughts on this comment.

When you use the zip file of the exporter, the script folder is already in. You need to copy it to the Daz Content Library.

Agent0013

Two questions:
1. Do I need to create a Script folder in the Content Library?
2. Is it supposed to be in the DAZ Studio Formats Library, or the Poser Formats Library?

I ask the above because I don't want to put it where it is not supposed to be.
