The Fantasy Attic has twp main Awards that are given out on a weekly basis and one monthly Contest with prizes.
THE MONTHLY CONTESTS
We have a monthly contest that is themed. The members of the Attic pick the theme by making suggestions and then voting. Whichever suggestion gets the most votes in the end, that's the monthly theme. It's OUR choice as a community. So do join in with suggestions and VOTE!.
Of course we do have our Holiday Contests that may include an additional placement based on our sponsors generosity.
These contests are judged by people who are not members of the Attic. They get a scorecard and access to the gallery via a link sent to them and then cast their votes. Votes are received and then tallied up to see who the winners are. In case of a tie the admins make the final decision.
Please read the contest rules carefully for each month. The number of entries may vary and ending dates also vary. The last day of the month is not necessarily the last day of the contest. We don't want you to miss out on your chance to win.
Contest entries MUST be placed in the Gallery folder for the contest for consideration in the contest. It's just a way to make things easier for the monthly contest judges. No late entries will be allowed to participate in the judging.
Entries must not previously entered here or at any other site, and must be original work only.

THE WEEKLY CONTESTS
Our two main weekly staples here are the Starving Artist of the Week award or SAOTW, and the Treasure of the Week award - TOTW.
FOLDERS
All creations put in the Gallery (with the exception of those entered in our Monthly, Special, and Adult Gallery) are eligible to win SAOTW and TOTW
OTHER CONTESTS
Occasionally, we have individual challenges and other little contests here and there. You will receive announcements for those in the mail or check the forum!
THE GALLERY
Our TOS is simple: No child porn or implications of such; no active violence...the result of it - use your judgement there. No flaming or disparaging comments. If you have something constructive to say and put it nicely, that's cool. Nudity in the main galleries is allowed as long as it's 'tasteful'. That's about it for Gallery rules.
Votes for winning images in weekly or monthly contests are NOT measured by how many views or comments you get. If you don't want to comment on everything, you don't have to. Comment on what you like. It's all good.
If you would like to add a folder into an existing classification (i.e. for the Fantasy folder), let us know and we'll see what we can do. PM thelufias, Aelin or DarkAngel to ask. We'll see if we can't accommodate you! We have tried to cover all the bases, but we miss some at times.
Our gallery limits are generous! Add up to five images a day...FREE! Sizes up to 2500x2500 are allowed up to 1500 kb or 1.5 mb. Most of all, we want you to have a good time, feel at home and enjoy yourself.

Yes indeed. CoTM was a good thing but with so many other Prize Galleries open we were having problems getting entries in all of our Contests. So for this year we'll see how it goes. If we think we have enough participation throughout the year in our contests, then we'll see if we have room for another contest...
And yes....you entered all but one and we thank you for that indeed....and to all others that participated in the CoTM...THANK YOU also...

Yes, it was for 2 years.
And who knows? Some of our ideas will maybe end in the propositions for the future monthly contests :ifonly:

Thanks for the update! I will miss the COTM challenge and I would like to say a big THANK YOU to Sidherose and Aelin for all their great ideas during the 2 years. It was a lot of fun. :ty01: :mwah:

I also would like to say I will miss the CoTM and add my thanks to Aelin and Sidherose for the work they put in every month. It can not be easy to run a contest and keep up with all the other obligations here and in RL.

I will say yes, as long as they were created without other's artwork included. if it is something that has your original stuff in it then you and all know it is allowed.
I hope that helps it is also not allowed if you have it posted elsewhere, as always artwork that goes into the contests must be original, not posted anywhere else prior to the contest...especially another contest UNLESS you re-work it so it looks entirely different.
Also, sorry for the late answer I just saw this, been a rough summer.
