I do? I can? so if I have dressed and posed and changed V4 say, I can port the saved pic of her into a scene? I didn't realise that worked

Not the picture but V4 herself I guess, except if I'm wrong... which is possible

sorry, I meant a figure dressed, coiffured and with her features tinkered to my satisfaction and posed along with her clothes in a pz3 file [eg v4 in v3's kimono kneeling, which is a so and so to do, to port directly into ... oh, downtown Edo.  I still don't know how to save a new character for v4 any other way than saving the pz3 file itself ... or putting my own textures into a pose, i am woefully ignorant still and can't figure out where to find out

When you are talking of saving a new character, do you want to say making your own morphs? If so, I don't know very much in Poser, but when you are in the Pose folder from your library, you must have icons under the tree of your library. Generally a book/folder icon if I'm correct, and + and -.
All you have to do is having V4 selected, then click on the alone + ; a little window must open and either on that one, or on the window after, you can select what you want save from your V4 (body, head, or all of that).
I try to see if we have a topic with screen captures for a better explanation.

Hum, no screen captures for now, but not sure the Pose folder is the good one. Could be the Face folder to do that.
