I use to use Ice Packs to lesson the pain and swelling. Worked well.

I be lucky in regard to not having issues with salt or sodium, doesn't mean that I do not think about it though.

Intend to try this for the Christmas meal along with a Cornish hen and a few other items, should be a grand meal.

I made cornish hens last year for Thanksgiving. Only took an hour to cook 6 of them instead of the 6 hours or so to cook one large turkey! LOL

The almond slivers get pretty soft and aren't at all crunchy when you bake them. You don't even have to grind them up. I think walnut chips do too, if I remember correctly.

I've never tried it myself...mostly because I don't like nuts but will eat them ground. But, strangely enough, I LOVE peanut butter and eat tons of it! LOL

I used to eat about 5 lbs a week of the stuff! LOL Had to buy it in a 5 lb tub...one per week.

I really did eat that much for many years. PB and homemade grape or strawberry jam (my grandmother used to make both) or honey. I still love the stuff but now only eat a few sandwiches per week because of my blood pressure. Maybe 6 or so...

I probably eat about three heaping tablespoons full of peanut butter every day, just by itself. I love it.
