Sounds cool since I have never done one. However it sure would be nice if the customer were to deliver existing radios for the upgrades and new programming, a working radio for testing, and updated information so code plugs can be written. Since this all lives on a Radio Management Server it is important to have all of these details in place so the work can be accomplished in a timely manner.
If you have already guessed that this is not the case, move to the head of the class.
The Motorola project team wanted me to come out early last week to learn what the correct sequence of steps were so I could manage the other guys who would be assisting, since supposedly there are about 3K radios in need of the upgrade. And this was to be completed in "two weeks" lots of luck with that
Well, I did learn the sequence, however no radios have come forward and no further code plug details. The only thing that has occurred is that all of the new R7 radios (1,650) were brought over to where we are set up at and all I have done basically after programming ten radios is regionalized the new radios ... well start is probably a better term since there is over a thousand.
Monday doesn't look any better as I will certainly not need any other help programming and updating until the customer gets their act together and gets radios delivered and codeplug/talk group details updated.
