Hello AmirA :Hi5:

Welcome to DS4 world! :lite2:
The interface of DS4.x versions is not that different from the interface of DS3.
The first thing to do, if you didn't it yet, is to verify if you can have access to your old DS3 content.
If you can, there's nothing more to do.
If you can't, you must tell to the program where your content folders are located. If I recall right, it's the command Edit/Parameters/Content Manager.
Then, you can set your render settings. Although DS4.9 is mostly intended to use the Iray engine, you can keep on using the 3Delight engine. You just have to choose 3Delight and then, you can set the same parameters you had with DS3.
If you want to use Iray, you must have a pretty powerful graphic card. Theoretically, you need to have specific textures intended for Iray, but I noticed that the poser textures work fine with it. You just may need to adjust the brightness and the glossiness.
That's what comes to my mind for now. If you have any questions, just yell and if I can hear you, I'll try to help you. :oh-snap:

Thank you Neimrok. Appreciate all the help.

Had a shock when I saw the difference in layout lol.

For now I am installing all, using the DIM. Lucky my content was backed up on an external. So I have directed it to the drive to install all. Taking forever lol. But slowly but surely getting there.

I tried to use the manuals Daz gives for 4, but keeps taking me to 404 errors. So if you have links that work, do share please.

Hi Amira!
My 2 only advices for the moment:
- avoid the encrypted files. It seems Daz3d forgot this thing when they buy RDNA and started the merge. But encrypted sets are only on the cloud. Impossible to use otherwise.
- avoid as much as possible Iray, mainly if you computer isn't strong. For a good Iray render, often you need minimum of 2 hours. I tried once, and after 2 minutes, comp was become hot. And you need to possess a Nvidia card for renders.

Otherwise, I'm also learning time to time some newbies in. But I work more again with DS3.
You can look in these sections already:
some tutorials : you have DS4 and DS3 tutorials by there
Q & A : sometimes we have answers to few questions.
DS creative magazine with tutorials and even free packs. The topic give the link of all mags.

I believe it's all for the moment.
Except in the world of DS4, you need to keep datas. And that is really huge in memory :thud: The only datas you can remove sometimes are in Data => Auto_adapted
they are datas for stuffs in Poser formats. Or time to time when you put Genesis clothes to Genesis 2 generation.

If you use DIM, you should be able to have access to your content without having to do anything. At least, I hope.
I tried to use DIM only one time and it didn't work on my PC and then, I never used it. As I don't trust DAZ Connect either, I keep on installing my new content manually.
As for the layout, the default one is not very good. After fiddling a little, I finally managed to get something that was almost resembling to the layout of DS3.
If you have an error 404, it means that DAZ3D has removed all the links to an online documentation on their site. :thud:
I think I still have documents in pdf format, that I got when I downloaded previous versions of DS4. Maybe they're a little out of date but it can help. :snoglobe:
If I find them, I'll send you a PM. :lite2:

From 2013, Daz changed many links. For documentations again online, they have missing images.

But documents are few again, i remember now: http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php

It seems they have short videos by here: http://www.daz3d.com/help/help-daz-3d-video-tutorials
