Pdg did some awesome tutorials about this in pfd...but they have all gone...and I have forgotten how it's done...been too long!
-
Hi sanbie. Just select your clothing and go to the File menu in the top left corner of your screen. In the drop down select Export and then your output of choice. WavefrontOBJ is the usual target output.
If you need more help or a screen shot let me know.
-
I tried that and it didn't work...I think I did something wrong...screenshot might be in order lol.
-
I couldn't remember what the settings I had to tick were...when I imported it back in it dropped down through the floor lmao
-
Sanbie, have you tried to save your .obj in your Poser 11 runtime? If it's the case, Poser 11 generally never allows you to save something directly in your Poser runtime. You have to create another runtime just to save your .obj, .mc6... or any other stuff.
Then from that 'outside' runtime, you can move your stuff inside the P11 runtime :hypno:
-
Nope haven't tried to save it anywhere yet Aelin, I exported as obj...then imported it back into poser but instead of sitting in the middle it went right down through the ground so only the hip area was visible above the ground.
Oh I just remembered Deni saying to make a copy of the exe poser file and to put that in as the main poser runtime. Mmmm wonder if that has something to do with it.

Just getting home. Stressful day.
OK here we have Gramps2 and his conforming clothing. Let's grab his jacket and make it into a prop.
1. Select his Jacket from the list of figures in the scene.
2. In the File menu in the corner press File->Export->WavefrontOBJ
3. Select Single frame in the box that pops up.
4. Select Your clothing item (Gramps2Jacket)
5. Press ok
6. When the Export Options come up just press "Weld body part seams" to hold everything together and Include body part names in polygon groups to make grouping, texturing, and dynamics easier with your exported object .
7. Click OK and save your new prop cloth. You are done.
When you import the OBJ you made do not tick any of the import boxes except to keep polys consistent if you are not sure about back facing polys. The cloth will appear exactly where it was exported from. There will of course be no rigging, but as Poser saves a mat file alongside the OBJ you will have textures from the exported cloth if Poser can find them.

Gotta run. Really busy. Back later if needed.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
Just waiting for a render to finish then I will try this again...I can see where I went wrong on the import settings

Good stuff. My pizza is here. They brought beer. I'm gone for tonight.
-
Enjoy, your beer and your night

I think this worked out okay...I found my conforming TC51- skirt and top...no textures were found and the morphs wouldn't work...now the dynamic works well, I thought for a quick test...now to make some textures.
-
Morphs don't work in dynamic cloth. When we made a prop from the conforming cloth the morphs were lost. Hybrid cloth conforming/dynamic combined in a single item is quite possible but not the norm. It is best used for making a skirt dynamic while the bodice part remains conforming or the puffy sleeves on a poet or pirate shirt.
Simple off the top of my head. Haven't done it in years. Take the Morphing Fantasy Dress from DAZ. Everyone seems to have a copy of that.
1. conform dress to figure
2. with the Grouping tool make the flowing skirt of the dress a separate group if it isn't already. This will be your default dynamic group.
3. pose figure first and then sim the skirt so that your conformer works as expected (the bodice)
That should be it in a simple nutshell. I haven't done it in years so it may be a tad more involved, but I doubt it.
-
No pdg, it was a conforming outfit...no textures and the morphs wouldn't work...so I made it dynamic.
-
But I am glad you said how to do that...my brain had forgotten lol.
-
Looks good sanbie. Glad it's working.

If you want the list of textures, you can go there:

We have another topic https://www.thefantasiesattic.net/attic/index.php?topic=12957.0
But I'm not sure yet all the textures are back online.

LL over at pfdlives has all the challenge zips which she is going to get to me...so let me know if you need any of the originals.
TC51 is now also in dynamics for poser if anyone wants them let me know.
Some of those links lead no where but got a few...thank you for that Aelin

@PDG and whoever else that wants to know how to add more than one attachment at a time [good for tutorials and such].
When you scroll down below your post as usual:
add your attachment
click "More Attachments" for each one you add
if you mess up then hit the "clear Attachment " next to the unwanted image to make it go away.
Post as usual, after the attachment box it tells you how many you can add per post.

Thanks DA
