Very nice free game at GoG that is Outcast 1.1 https://www.gog.com/game/outcast?pp=4b1a62d54f5d635ceffa0118244d63e07779e04a  It is a bit older but story is nice and interesting, something like adventure game in 3d worlds... I played it a bit but didn't saved the game... There is booklet I should have read first :)

Here is very nice point and click adventure for free here https://www.gog.com/game/i_have_no_mouth_and_i_must_scream?pp=4b1a62d54f5d635ceffa0118244d63e07779e04a  Story might be a bit disturbing (meaning it is probably for grown up people) but it is interesting and nice adventure with option to play 5 different characters and stories. Turn on subtitles in options it is much better at least for me as voice is a bit unclear.
