Yeah, the memories are great.   Mogwai learned a LOT from Tattoo.   And Tattoo was happy to teach him.   But, personality has a lot to do with how they communicate, and how much they "speak".   Tattoo would sit and hold conversations with me.   Like in this photo of him sitting on a night stand.   Him in my lap he is just purring up a storm.   Yeah that is the beard he loved jamming his head up in while holding onto my chest with both paws.   That was a "Tattoo Hug" I call it.  Heh!

What a great photo of the both of you...memories they are with you forever. I remember when my corgi Tia died, she was a lovely dog and my other dog was a terrier...she missed Tia so much. One day Suzi (the terrier) was scratching at the front door to come inside, as I was cooking dinner at the time I called to the kiddies to let her in...not sure if they had done it I turned to check...Yep Suzi strutting in with Tia right behind her...I nearly dropped the knife I was holding...when I looked back all I saw was Suzi...So I know they keep an eye on us!

Anytime you feel like it, go right ahead TL!

Hmmmm, gonna have to check that one out.  Very lovely lady.  In any case, thought I'd come by and check out your new digs.  Nice.  I was actually expecting more of a nautical theme.  But I guess that Kianna has her own ways about her.  That girl can give you hugs like you wouldn't believe.  That's if you don't mind looking a couple dozen snaketacles in the eye.

Here you go McG.  Cali is now home...though at times she whines for the outside...but that's not often.  And yes....the scratch board gets really worn out with 1 cat and now....4 kittens :tearlaugh:
Title: Re: McG's Place...Stop on by....

Make a scratching post TL, just put a 4' tall pine 2x4 on a flat 2' square board, with gussets.   Stand it near the common foot path.   My two have nearly clawed their way through two regular 2x4's!    I'll get a pic of one of them for you.   Tattoo started that on one of the kitchen counter legs.   Alan loves it that the cats love using that steads of the furniture.  Ha!  As a little kitten, Mogwai saw Tattoo doing his thing, then started doing his on it too!
one, Curled up, that is Mogwai at 12 days old, that is when I brought him n his mom into the house.  Warmer, safer there.
two, rolley polley, Mogwai is fighting, you see.  Paws are spread wide, and claws showing.  Dangerous!
three, Scratching Post!   Kitty DO, kitten SEE, kitten DO!
Then there is Tattoo, just proud as he can be!  His 'training' Mogwai paid off.  ;o)

Mogwai was the runt of the litter of 5.  He is  also the only one of that litter, Blackies first, that survived even a week.   Even with Blackie busy cleaning and stimulating them, Mogwai was the only survivor.  She was a great Mom, and took good care of her baby.  At three months, she weaned him.  He was eating kitten chow and drinking from their bowl, so why not?   But he did get her milk daily for three months.   Then, she wanted outside again.  She allowed Mogwai to 'visit' her, just as long as he didn't try to nurse off her.    She died a few years ago.   She'd had a bunch of litters after Mogwai's!   So now Mogwai is the Old Man.  He's just a few weeks away from 11 years old.
Yeah, I do love my critters.  Now, plural has become singular.  Sigh.  IT IS the Way of It, yeah.

12 years  ago we moved up here.  Then Tattoo started clawing away at that upright 2x4.   From the first time he saw it happening, Alan said let him have at it, he can't hurt that board.  Later he said maybe he can hurt it after all, but it is interesting seeing him work at it!   Mogwai is still trying to claw his way through that one 2 x 4 counter leg!  Eventually I think he will make it.  LOL!

As mentioned.....Lorna does trim the nails on all of them...Just the front ones....but they do have fun with their toys....  Right now they are all sleeping after watching me shovel all of that snow LOLOL

Mogwai still thinks he's a kitten sometimes.   Then, when he is all tuckered out, he plops down for a nap.   I'd read they only purr for their human.  EH?  WOT!   Well, this is likely a scientist with poor observation skills.   Cause I have known both Tattoo and Mogwai to purr in their sleep too!

Mogwai's birthday is coming soon.  April 5 he will be ELEVEN years old!   We gonna have a party!

Hmm.   Right now would be pretty bad timing for getting a new critter.  Specially a baby one.  Kitten.  I'd like to, and I THINK Mogwai would like that too.  Just so long as I don't give him reason to get jealous of the baby stealing HIS time with me.

Actually it would be a good thing.  Mogwai is use to a companion and one can never give enough love to a cat or kitten in their eyes.  Ozzie did fine with the 3 younguns we brought in and is doing fine with Cali...though Cali is trying to adjust to the houseful of critters.  Every now and then Cali will give one of them a swat or two...but I think once they swat back, all will be fine LOLOLOL

Currently, NetFlix is airing a program about 'What Cats THINK?'.  I think all the segments within that one have been shown through the years.   But this puts em all together, in order and very sensible speak from several experts.  And finally, some of these performing cats are shown with their own Humans!   That made it work for me.   I see the men and women with their beloved cat folk all over and around them, just like me and the Boyz have been for more than a decade.  It's GOOD to SEE other cat folks at LIFE together!    :happydance: :woohoo: :mwah: :madfun:  :havesum: :ty04: :3flower; :ty2: :ty02: :psycho: :grenade:

I will watch it again tomorrow.  With Mogwai.   When he recognizes something he likes on the TV, he goes right up to it, sits down and watches whatever it is like a hawk.   Cats doing tricks and talking cat talk must be pretty cool stuff to him!

I'd been saving my coppers for a while now, and getting fed up with washing a very few clothes in the kitchen sink for years now...unless I take em to laundrymat.   I sprung for a new apartment size portable washer and dryer.   The dryer looks and acts just like you would expect it too.  But with modern control pad.    Hey, it does the job well.   The little washer, now that is something new on me.   It has two lids, the big lid on left is for the washing.  It has this weird agitator in the bottom, and the 'tub' is more of an octagon shape.  But, surprise!  Ya put clothes in, fill it with water, add TIDE ULTRA!  Turn it on for 15 minutes and let her run.   Then ya gotta turn the Mode Selector to DRAIN, and make sure the hose is IN a drain cause it will cover the floor in seconds!   So it empties the first tub.    Move some of those soggy clothes to the second tub.  The spin tub.  Much smaller than the first.  But, it just takes a minute to have the clothes nearly dry.   Meanwhile, you can wash while the other is spinning.   Then the dryer does its great job and so far, I'm the only part of that system that folds and or hangs the finished clothes up!    Wow, it is so nice not to have to use the sink for anything but the drain!    :feelgood: :mwah: :viking: :woohoo: :coffeemaker: :java:

BTW - that weird agitator on the bottom?   Along with the pile of corners to break the water up, does an excellent job getting the clothes clean!   Brand for both, Costway.   From Walmart!

Sanbie you were lucky, your Hoover was an automatic one!   But that main washer agitation looks about like what this one does.   IT really does get the clothes clean.  Way cleaner than a hand wash in the kitchen sink!  And that spin dry tub, mine sounds like it's going 5000 rpm.  Seriously.   It don't leave a lot for the electric dryer to do.  But it all gets done :)

TL you are so right about that!   I  just ordered some kind of hose kits for the washer.  Dryer?  Done and happy!  I got to get that washer 'adapted' to both inlet and drain somehow.   For whatever reason,  the washer fascinates Mogwai.   The dryer?  Ignores it.   Cant see through the dryer door.   But can see through the washers lids.   There it is, the motion.

I been wanting to move my conversation about BadMoonRYZEN  to this thread.   I mean, it's 3 years old now!

TOday is Fathers day, so Happy Dads Day y'all Dads!   I am really enjoying mine.

I took ol BMR and shut it down.  Pulled the power cord plumb out.  Made a bit of room, then pulled it out towards me and laid him over.  He is a mid tower ATX case, so that ain't bad.   Took me a minute to figure out the release tab on the 16X PCIE 4.0 slot.  It is a super simple slotted push to release tab.  Gosh.  Got the GTX 1650 S 4 gig out, and got the old vid cables off the monitors and out.  Plugged in the two brand new ones and laid em handy for the video card.  While the slot was vacant, I did a tad of dust n hair removal.  It amazes me how much of Mogwai gets into the computer!   Got it all cleaned up, mobo shining like new, and carefully inserted the thicker and longer PNY RTX 3060 12 gig DDR6 Verto card.  Then plugged the monitor cables in.  First time I ever used a Display Port, um, PORT.  The  damn thing CLICKED when I plugged it in!  Means somehow, it locked itself in.  Sheesh.  The old types all used thumb screws.  These don't   So, as I was now stuck with it, Hi HO Hi HO, On with the show I go OH OH!  Got all fixed up, laid the internal cables around neater, and plugged the secondary power plug(s) in.  This one uses 8 pins!   Got it all upright again.   Checked the card for any sign of looseness.  Non e at all.   OK, monitors ON... horsepower ON!  All the fans spin up.  Blank screens.  Kill the rear rocker power switch.  Start up, hit power button, got the ASUS TUF GAMING logo on the wrong screen, hit DELETE to get into BIOS, had it reset its OPTIMAL Performance thing, click Save and Reboot.   Voila!  I got stuff on both screens, and 5 secs later there is the Windows 10 Pro login screen.  Takes longer for me to type the password than it does for this rig to reboot!  (chuckles happily at that!)  Log IN, Selected the new 531.61 regular driver, Run As Administrator!  Oh yeah!  It instantly saw the new card and  set the drivers up for it.  Happy Daze!  Heh heh heh!
Now to go saturate myself in some sort of intense video game, see if I can push on the new card a bit.  :D

The new vid card is:  a PNY VERTO GeForce RTX 3060 12GB GDDR6 PCI Express 4.0 x16.   See it HERE (https://www.walmart.com/ip/PNY-VERTO-GeForce-RTX-3060-12GB-GDDR6-PCI-Express-4-0-x16-Video-Card-VCG306012DFBPB1/1474721811).   This thing is a CHUNK of hardware!   It weighs in at a couple POUNDS!  It is longer and even thicker than the old but nearly as huge GTX 1650.  I thought it was big, and it is.   This one is even bigger though!   Well, it's IN and running!  Happy me!

Is it bad ass?   Let's put it in real and visual terms.   The Game, No Man's Sky.   The game(s) (most of them!) wanna put my game screen size at a max of 1920 x 1080.   This LG's native res is 2560 x 1440.  So I wanna play in that res.   I set it.  Game sez Restart the game.  Did so.  Now I go to the Graphics and Video settings, and hit the "DEFAULTS" button.   It did show the new card fine.   Suddenly, all the settings went from mostly turned down or even turned off to all of them on ULTRA!   AND at 75 Hz.  AT 2560 x 1440.   Smooth as silk man.   THAT is what I am talkin about!   :viking: :CLINTE: :happydance: :woohoo: :Hi5: :havesum: :java: :hubbahubba: :mwah: :grenade:

Playing No Man's Sky, all the pretty stuff maxed out, all the bells and whistles turned on, and the rig don't even hiccup now.  WOW!  loving that!  Well let's see, there is The Last of Us to try out, and Cyber Punk 2077 too.   The older games did fantastic on the GTX 1650.  These newer ones I named just stuttered quite a bit.  But, mostly playable still.   But now, with the RTX 3060, none of that mess going on.  And it's quiet!  :D

Oz has been really good about that.  Going from the lone cat to the elder of the clan of 5....he does pretty good with them.  Right now he's laying on my feet while I have them on my hassock that's under my desk.  The morning is his time with me.  The little ones are all sleeping also.   And as I was typing about the little ones....Calie jumps on my lap...and not gracefully....OUCH....

Damn...that's rough.....Especially with no warning.  By the way...that's the same year I got my license..

Why don't you check with the VA and see what they can do anything to help you get it back.

They will, assuming I am fit TO drive again.   6 months to a year maybe?   Pisser is I gotta go in and take both the written and road tests again.

I did enjoy my day, now to get on with the rest of the 4th holiday thing.   I gotta say, the Govt. Employees really do milk certain holidays to the hilt!   There are a few doctors taking the whole week off.  My podiatrist, my endocrinologist, my urologist and most likely my oncologist too.  That ain't the worst of it.  See each of them has their own 'entourage', which is spelled TEAM in VA Speak.  THEY are off along with the doctors heading up their "teams".  eh-HEM!   Did we not get One Paid Holiday for the 4th, TL?   How did that grow to 7 days?!
Well anyhoo,  it gave me a week off too!  LOL!

With the company I worked for we had 4 floating holidays.  The Union voted on when to use two of them and the company picked when to use the other two.  When I worked in the plant I was a Union Steward so I was part of the process.  If the Holiday landed in the middle of the week we would pick either the two days before or the two days after so we all would have a 5 day weekend. When I was in Management...It didn't matter.

Since this porch is mine . . .

I share a Remembrance, of my Father.

My Daddy loved ball games.   It never matters what time of year it is, there is some kind of professional sports with BALL in the name.  Baseball, Basketball, Football.   Even tennis and ping pong are ball games.   And while I was growing up, there was always a ball game on Sunday afternoon television.   If he was off that day, he watched a ball game.  Daddy also loved to fish.   Didn't matter where, as long as he might catch a fish.  Fresh water, salt water.  Fishing.  Rod and reel.  He would have loved Jeremy Wade.   So, often during spring and summer, we family would find ourselves out with him, fishing.  I never really caught onto catching fish though.   I  could bait a hook, cast out, and it would sit for an hour, no nibbles.   Then start to reel it in BANG something struck it.  And a few times, took my rod and reel away from me.   But this is about Daddy.   He would stand in one spot, cast out, occasionally slowly reel in a bit, then  wait a while.  He had pocket transistor radio's, two of them, in his pockets.  And an earphone in each ear, listening to two games at one time.  Fishing.
Most of my life, he worked in a Sintering Plant in a steel mill, making klinkers for the blast furnace.   Any of you familiar with Steel Mills, such as lined the Ohio River the first 70 years of last century, know exactly what I speak to.   Everyone working in one of those plants went home red.  Clothes, skin, red.  Reduced iron.  Ferrous Oxide.  Gets everywhere.  I worked there 3 years, and it took 5 years for me to stop sweating red.   Not kidding folks.  Daddy near killed himself working that job.   The whole crew did.   I was a part of that for 3 years.   Then I bid out to an apprenticeship.   Instrument Repair.  Didn't complete that one but I DID get my 4 year letter (Apprenticeship Complete!) from a different Steel Company Electrical Engineer/Supervisor.  I was so pleased to earn that one.  Journeyman Electrician.   For me, THAT was worth all the blood, sweat and tears it took to earn it.    My daddy was pleased with that too.  VERY pleased.  Surprised the heck outta me.  "Son, it ain't college, but it is a great thing you have done.  It is like a degree, and will get you work anywhere."  From my Dad, that was a great thing.   And I remember being shocked in hearing that.
I guess I did learn somewhat from my Daddy.  A work ethic that I still hold to.   Honesty.  Above all, honesty.   Always speak the truth, no matter what the results may be.  Truth matters.   Any persons Honor *IS* their Word.   You Give your Word, you Keep your Word.  One other thing that actually pushed me to push my own abilities in every direction.   SEEK to LEARN!  Then APPLY what I learn, somewhere, somehow.   I taught myself to read, before I started school.  The summer before 1st grade, I read The Son Of Tarzan, Edgar Rice Burroughs.  Thanks to my dad, I learned to read.  Spelling?  I'd ask what a word meant, or how to spell something.  He tossed me a dictionary.  Oh he still talked about words.   Grammar, syntax and the rash of 'nymns'.  I got intensely interested in paleontology.    He wasn't so thrilled with that, asked why not more recent history.  So, I loved seeing what kind of creatures belonged to those old fossilized bones people dug up around the world.  He also found it mildly fascinating.  His love was for living animals though.
My daddy was also an Artist.  He used conventional media only.   Pastels, pencil/graphite, oils and water colors.  He loved flowers, but even more, birds.   It was through HIS love for birds I came to 'see' animals as folk.   You can't spend years and decades with a creature and not see it has a personality.  It IS a Person!
I was still angry with my father, and he passed in 2009.    I was still angry on Fathers Day in June.   Today, I am not as angry with him.   I am trying to give a positive, respectful tribute to him in this remembrance of him.   Now I have slowly come to realize that my closest sister is the one really to earn my anger.   As she has manipulated me our entire lives.   All Daddy's artwork?  SHE took it.  All the family's photographs?  SHE took 90% of it, and sold it off on EBay.   All their possessions?  SHE was there first, took whatever she wanted and the rest went to trash.   Well, I can't change what has been done, nor do anything about who got what.   I  CAN change how I look at things NOW.  And the one thing neither she or anyone else can take from me, is my memory of LIFE, and everyone I have shared some life with.   That is quite a lot of people, and quite a lot of memory!   SO, it is ok for me to choose to remember my Dad fondly, even with something akin  to Love.  And it is ok for me to not be angry with my sister for all the crap she has done.  I will keep my distance from her though.  A few thousand miles is a help.   And nobody can stir me to anger.   Only I can do that.   And today, I choose a different place, a happier place.  Thank you Daddy, for teaching me that first rule of psychology.   It is MY choice, always!

Plus, in his way, he is responsible for my having learned digital electronics, computers, ART in any form I might do, even on computers, in  2D and 3D.

If you, my neighbor, read this page, I thank you.    While you didn't get a prize for doing so, you win my appreciation.   Specially if ya drop a line below saying you read it!

Ahhh the one with Sweet Caroline!   Cracklin Rosie.   That was about when Booker T and the MG's came out with Time's Tight and Green Onions!   AND, Credence Clearwater Revival released Cosmos Factory album!  Oh and Marilee Rush released that ONE song for her husband:  Angel of the Morning!   Oh man how many times have I bought THAT single!  AND Melanie with Brand New Key!   Gosh that opened a floodgate of great memories!   :D   Same time frame:  Iron Butterfly: Innagodda Da Vita.   Joni Mitchell coming up with a long list of great songs too.   Including one written for Woodstock;  Both Sides Now, by Joni Mitchell and sang by Judy Collins.  This one was my "angst anthem!" for SO many years man.    I am not sure when that part of me drifted into a neatly folded and stowed bit in my baggage area, nor has it quite been replaced.   I love MANY great songs and a bunch of them are from current artists.  Like, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry.   I think Lady Gaga (Stefani) has stepped up to Barbara Streisand's rostrum!   OH Steppenwolf with Magic Carpet Ride!

I heard THAT!   Yeah, A Star is Born - Stefani (Lady Gaga's given name) did an incredible job with ALL the music.   Piano and voice!
Um, Top Gun - Maverick, she did the music in THAT movie too!   The end song, "Hold My Hand", I cried.   Seems Maverick is heading off to the sunset with Penny.   I think she might have been that first Admirals daughter....that admiral he pissed off...about Penny, on a joyride with Mav in a Tomcat.  (shrugs)  IT would be something if he turned out to be Amelia's father!

'Fiddler On The Roof'?
'The Sound Of Music'?

So here is where i mention that it is obvious now why J has the Work Entertainment thread going!

Getting old is NOT for sissies!   I now see I began getting "old" the day I was born.   Seems to be an accumulative process.   But never fear, it does snowball!   So, the more time invested in growing old, the faster it happens.   Did not see that when I was in my 50's.   And now, as I have tried mightily to slam on the brakes as I am zooming up to 70 (years not miles per hour!), I do see it.   And, with a wistful tear in my eye, I realize that with all the great equipment we are blessed with, those 'BRAKES' were never part of the package!   So you think there might be a tight turn up ahead?  Heh!  I am amused!

This latest rash of realization awoke in my mind this morning about 2:00 am as my mind awoke.  AND, I found me sitting in a pile and a puddle.   Pile of wet clothes, puddle of pee.  SOMETHING leaked!  (Ya  THINK ?!?!?!  DUH!)  Well the bed has to dry out now.  I did learn from my wound care nurses that our pee and the rest of us are all exactly the same PH factor.  So, my pp won't eat me alive like I once thought it would.   Seems diaper rash comes from a fungus, not our pp.  eh HEM!  Yes.  SO that is why said Wound Care Nurses give me bottles of anti-fungal powder to use as needed for my diaper rash, when it happens to occur.   OK.  I use it.  No diaper rash.  STILL got loads of wetness to deal with at times.  WHY?!  All detectable exits accounted for and DRY, so it is just one of the Great Mysteries of Life I guess.

EH?   Hm.  Just noticed that the desktop has my Moonbeam Centauress on display.   Means that BadMoonRYZEN did a hard RESET while I slept.   Gosh, I betcha that ASUSUpdateCheck.exe is, once again, the culprit!
So after dealing with wetness issues, I sit here at the desk and find that little bugger IS the culprit.   Grrrr!  Three years of procrastinating about the issue, I sleepily take charge and may have ended that issue, finally.   THIS instance of that tiny .exe file is generated by and used for the ASUS Armory CRATE.   Which is a short list of ASUS programs created to appeal to little gamer children.  While I AM a Gamer, and do use ASUS machinery, I am neither little nor a child.   And nothing at all in that short list appeals to me, nor is even of any use to me, at all.   So, I deleted it all.  BUT did NOT realize that mess is enabled in the first place in my motherboards BIOS!  I Googled it.  Surprised?   Yaknow, so MUCH happened, changed, in the 12 years I ran that old Intel Q9550 (CPU) rig.    It still amazes me just HOW capable the modern system BIOS is now.   You used to have to have "The Main Three!" to even get to the Power On Self Test (POST screen).  Now, you don't have to have a discrete video card, or RAM, or even a freaking CPU installed!   Just hook a monitor up to the motherboards built in Display port, plug in a keyboard and/or mouse, push the GO button and it DOES come up!  But enough of my being infatuated with and fascinated by the motherboard.   I reset machine from Windows Power choices, found that little rascal under TOOLS in the Advanced area in my BIOS.  Sure enough, Armory CRATE is the only entry in that drop menu and it was enabled.  I set it to DISABLED, saved and reset, and the W10 desktop popped right up.  This time, Windows allowed me to utterly REMOVE that little program, completely!   Yaaay!
Another instance where the (now) old saying, "Google Is your Friend!" is actually true.

Moment of introspection here.   A lot did change in the time since I built that last computer.   16 years ago, I took a week of vacation time that covered my birthday.   I had saved back over $2000 to build a new computer.   Friday came, was wished well and a happy vacation by my boss and co-workers.  I went to the Computer Parts store (that is the name of the store, btw!) paid for and picked up a big cardboard box full of my parts.  The store owner, Haung, talked me into opening up one box, then another.  And in two hours WE had built my new system in the store, and Ol King George XXVII fired right up, and I was happy.  SO I took a working PC and a lot of empty boxes home.  Heh!   Back then, THE place I socialized with any of you was in the usenet news group alt:binaries.3d.poser.  The Poser News Group!   I had been a regular in there for quite a while already.   And, Chaser (Laura Haskell), who had been a HUGE help to me when I de-lurked and hollered for HELP!, built herself a new Render Beast at the same time.   Hers was honestly better than mine.   But, I was so happy I now had eight gigs of RAM!  a true Quad Core CPU!  And so on.   We had fun back then.   And we were not even the OLD crew there.  I was one of the NEW crew.   Most of the groups Elders had moved on.   Chaser didn't.  I appreciated all her help, and the hard work she poured into creating the "3D Dollies" she made for sale.  I bought every one of her character sets for Victoria 4.2.   While I do have some favorites of hers, I do use all of them.   I make it a point to.
I wax nostalgic folks.   I used that  Usenet group more than 20 years.   And I miss it.   Though when the latest server died, and the owner didn't resurrect it, I haven't found it again on the newsgroup software I have.   There might be a couple of people here that used the group at all.  Not many though.   Sigh.  I guess the things people make and use pass on by, like water under the bridge.  Here one second, gone the next.    So now, my current social hangout is here, at Fantasies Attic.   While I do play with all my 3D stuff, including a nice pile of 3D programs, Photoshop CS 4 Extended, Paint Shop Pro X and The GIMP for PC are my 2D imaging programs.    I have fun with all this.   And once in a while I even create and render a scene I like.   So I save the image, and sometimes post one here at the Attic.   I truly do enjoy having the toolbox with all the programs I have.   I also enjoy having all the content I have acquired over the last 25 years.   Especially the character sets for two Figure groups.  Generation 4 and Genesis 2.   Poser can't see the new .DUF nor anything Genesis now.  As of Poser 12, it all went to Python 3 and ET Phone Home.  I spit on that one.  Meanwhile, I enjoy the occasional "artistic interaction" with any of you that will talk about it!
Now, off to play!

Did I mention anywhere in these forum threads that I now use Poser Pro 2014 as my MAIN 3D build/render tool?  Yes!  I do!  While I own Poser 11 Pro and Poser 12, they do NOT use Genesis anything.  So I hate using them.  Other than offering LaFemme they offer me nothing I want at ALL.  They even took away things I DO want and love using.   And, since JENN BLAKE parked her heel solidly in Posers throat, I won't be buying any more Posers.  Sigh.

Well I can tell ya this:   Poser Pro 2014 is still an excellent program, even if I got to position and size the Libraries every time I run it.   But, after it, Poser 11 Pro does OK, but still has bugs that never got fixed before Poser 12 was released.   I have that too, and it works fine, as long as you won't even think about any Genesis and higher DAZ Figures.   that is why I don't use it.

Alan came and got me to quietly look out the back door at what the current crop of kittens were doing for fun.  The back porch is just planks on  2 x 4 frame.  It has lots of holes in it now, needs replacing.  But the kittens were playing what looks totally like the PC game, GOPHER.  There are half a dozen kittens in this litter, so whichever got 'tagged' last was IT.  IT has to tag another kitten.  So we'd see a head pop up, then drop, then another pops up from a different hole and so on.  GOPHER!  I sat at that door window for half an hour watching those kittens.   Then their momma rang the dinner bell and they made a mass exodus straight over to her.  But that tickled me and Alan both to see them playing that way.

Love watching the little ones here also.  They are here at 6AM on the nose for their breakfast....with Mama included and Blacky  also.  Had one of the wee ones in here briefly yesterday.  The rest of the clan had gone under cover when the thunder and lightning and pouring rain started (FINALLY>>>>WE GOT RAIN...short lived though) and little GW (Grey and white) was whining on the steps.

So...went out and picked the little fella up...took him inside, dried him off.  I put him down for a second and he was petrified when our clan got curious.  He wanted out...So I put him inside one of the houses I have for outside cats and kittens, along with a bowl of food.  And he was still in there this morning with Mama and the other kittens.  So all worked out well.

Glad to hear that!    After thinking on it, you have like 4 or 5 indoors now?   And, they are all at least a year old, right?   That's 4 or 5 full size cats in the house, plus the two humans.   Bit of a crowd methinks!

Of course.....but it's not firm yet.  She's the one who cleans and changes out the litter boxes LOL....  But we do have a plan.  Three of them now sit in our laps when outside, and play with the toys they have outside, so before winter we'll try to gather them up and bring them to our animal shelter.  They make sure all healthy animals find a home....None are ever put down unless they are to injured or sick.

That is how it is here now, TL.   For cats, Texas requires animal control to cage capture, neutering and shots, then re-release in same area where caught.  Rodent control.  :)

All of the farms here have cats that have been on the family farm for generations....and if the Animal Shelters are full, they always take in cats and kittens....they stay safe, dry, warm, and can eat whatever they catch...which is plenty on a farm...and they get fresh milk every single day....and a lot of loving.  Farm kids name them all.

The Front Porch.    This is where we should all be friendly.  Wave hello to our neighbors and passers by.  And smile more (if we can find our teeth!).   Even if we can't find em, smile anyway!
The Back Porch.   It's a four letter word.   Most four letter words ought to be spouted here, if at all.   If one must be cranky, grousing and such, The Back Porch is better for all that.

It did go well, and there were plenty of doctors around.  It being Wednesday, I sure hope there are!  The follow ups with General Surgery are now done and over with.  The leg is completely healed up and doing great.  Got shrinkers in the mail, using one even now.  Just compression for the nub.  Next step is sign up for that prosthetic leg!  Woohoo!  That visit will be next Thursday.  Maybe, if I am lucky, by Christmas I will have the wonderful gift of WALKING again!

That is what I did.   Maverick sez:  DON'T THINK, JUST DO!   Which is exactly why I ended up like a heap of taters between the desk chair and the beds footboard!   Gotta remember there is no foot there now!   69 years and 1.5 months of having a foot there is now giving the brain a fit.  Occasionally.

Indeed....the body knows the part is missing but the brain has not got that far yet.  After my Grandmothers foot was amputated she could swear it still felt like it needed to be itched.....(Yes, she would itch her foot constantly....comes from all going barefoot all those years as a youth I guess)

Yup.  I realize all the ghost pains are just the brain trying to adjust to the new difference.   SOME of it is real though, like the muscles in the stump, the skin over the end of the stump (was back of the calf),  all that stuff still has feeling.  And lets it be known too!  LOL!

That is exactly what my Nurse, Physical Therapist and Doctor all said.   I am not growling whining crying screaming at all about the amputation.   I had a year and a half to prepare for that.  Six months before the Bad Weekend, Doctor Perez prepared me for the worst.  Well, DYING would be THE worst.  So, having to say goodbye to my leg lets me say in the race a while longer.  She told me the conditions that have added up to BAD.  And told me the next conditions that add up to GO to the ER *NOW*!   And the week that those occurred she even had a warning talk with me.  She wanted to admit me to hospital right then, but one of the conditions hadn't happened yet.  So she allowed me to come home that day.  Two days later we called for the ambulance.  I ended up in the VA ER, and was immediately admitted.  Dr. Perez ordered that done from the OR she was working in that day.    That is one BUSY Lady!

I do have an Endocrinology appt in January, and Wed Jan 03 I go see the Orthopedic guy for a 'diagnostic fit and tests' for a new leg.  Then, two weeks after that, I go get that New Permanent Leg!  :D   I can't wait!   Oh I am not expecting perfection on first wearing.  But then, knowing Chad, it might just BE!  :D     It is a family business, Chad grew up in the business, and it is the one thing he really loves doing.  Getting people WALKING again!   This guy knows a LOT about the mechanics of legs and feet.   Woohoo!  :D

Yeah, even the sad and bad memories with the siblings seem downright cheerful now.   I recall the great times we had when I took the Clans Wimmins out garage sale-ing.   I had to call it a day when the ol Jeep was crammed full of STUFF the ladies had rummaged out and there was a lively discussion among them the whole way home.   Then I stopped at a Taco Bell, everyone ran inside, and I treated em to whatever they wanted.  That was great fun.  And Li'l sis Becky led the way, cause she knew ever sale in that area already.  I got the fake Persian rug that day and it's on my floor right now.  :o)
Yes, there are lots of great memories of times shared with my baby sister.

SO, yesterday morning this time, me and Alan loaded up and headed out for Amarillo VA.   The Dr, the Nurse Practitioner, and two regular nurses bared my foot, cleaned it all up, and guess what?   It's still there!   Ha!   Pretty ratty looking but it shows noticeable healing and overall improvement in the 3 wounds.   That was sweet music to my ears!   Keeping the glucose down to near non-diabetic levels is a BIG help.  I am spending most of my time laying down, foot elevated.  It is happier, the Dr is too!  :D

[Oops!  moved to here]

Problem, and why I will *NOT* use either the DAZ Content Mangler System or the DAZ Instigator Mangler.   See, 15 years ago, DAZ wanted CONTROL of where things went, and the CMS was (and is) consistently inconsistent in where to put which type of file.   Whereas Posers system of file management is HARD systematic.   Though, you ARE able to move things where you like it, even if you want to mix file types, and Poser will use it all just fine.  BUT, the Library module won't show you things put in wrong folders.
I learned to organize the entire file system in Posers original way.   It is sensible,  and easy as pie to keep straight.   DAZ file system seems designed to confuse the human mind.   But not the digital mind.  This makes it easy for DAZ to  maintain control as most people won't even try to actually organize the mess.   I   DO   .
Then, with the advent of DS 4.0, the DUF was put in use.  And inside the DUF, is every thing concerning that particular item.   EVERY thing.   And of course, Poser cannot read it.  And MOST of the time, the DUF is not human readable either.   So I hung it up for DS after DS 3.0 Extended.   That was the only version we ever had to pay for and I bought the whole enchilada.

OK, I guess.   I like the big external.   But I wanna try a lot of capacity internally.   I have collected a bunch of SSD's.  Most are now 2 TB.  It is a pretty good size for doing this idea I have had for a while now.  To continue from Coffee Shop:

16 TB !?!?!  Is it kinda full?  Also, it is one of the reasons I like using just 2 TB internal SSD's.   Yes, the Runtimes do overflow one SSD, but three or four will work out great for just the Runtimes.   I do like organizing by type.  Such as the set of V4 runtimes, with one each for clothing, one for character sets, and the one for V4 itself and all its morph packs and textures.   Then of course one SSD just for prop sets like Environments, such as Jack Tomalin and Stonemason and DM.  THEN there is the one for Transport.  I am sure you get the picture.   How many internal SATA3 SSD's can I have now?  Got SATA ports for 14, enough mounting slots for 12.  One Spare. The odd one is the BluRay ReWriter.    Using 2.5" form SSD's makes it wonderful!  I have a mid tower case that works fine with all this.
What does that make in 2 TB drives?  28 TB!   Yeah I know, it's a headache.  But,  I think I will like it getting to reorganize my entire PC file structure.  :)

Met the new doctor, he examined me, looked over my scans and xrays, then talked about what he could do to help my issues.  I got much happier because he wanted to get this going next week.   Angioplasty.   He told me what he would be doing, I nodded as i got the picture.  Made good sense to me.  I said OK!   So, that was todays visit.

I'm living proof that it works McG.  I had angioplasty done on me when I was 55.  Also got stints in my legs and other parts of the body.

And to ease your mind....."surgical repair or unblocking of a blood vessel, especially a coronary artery:
"one of the commonest operations performed in the US is angioplasty" A quote from Mayo Clinic where I had mine done.

Yesterdays visit to Wound Care was great.  They were real busy and low on some supplies so had a home nurse come this morning too.  The bad wound is WAY smaller, no necrosis, and looks great.  Thanks for the prayers!   I am sure  that is why the wounds went from minimal amount of healing to lots of it!   And Tue is the angioplasty day.   Might mean the whole leg gets to more normal!

I always pray for friends who need a helping hand....and so glad that things went well....it will only get better.

I'm a Veteran but have only been to a VA Hospital once....and it was enough to convince me to change Hospitals.  Never been in one since...that's 40 years ago....

I know some are great...like the one my brother in RI goes to...But some are like Hospitals folks went to in the 1930's....LOL

Anyway...You take care....and FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS.....I'm thinking you do a little cheater more often then not LOLOL...

oh I did that 'little cheating' thing before, but not since the first work on me by Dr. Perez.  Then the Indo Dr. Carrizo, got me glucose control and  my A1C  dropped 3 FULL points!  Then I lost my rt leg.  Nope, no cheating.  I do grumble at times, but no cheating on The Plan, whatever it is.   More major improvements now expected!
None of the Docs at my VA were able to do what this Doc in town can, that is why the VA referred me to him.   And this one, he won't call it quits until The Job is DONE to his own persnicketyness!   He found more problem spots than he originally figured.  That OK, simply work till they are done.  He DID.  They are DONE!  WOW!
I was still covered in orange iodine wash, had magic marker spots all over leg and belly, no worries, the WORK is done now!  And I am grateful!

When I know there is serious healing to be done, I go to High Protein, otherwise, it is a balanced meal plan.  Glad I love my veggies!

Ain't any candy or sugar in this old mans home any more!   I have shaved back my grains or carbs, give way to the complex carbs and proteins!    Like green veggies, beans, lean chicken, turkey, beef and a little pork/bacon.  Keep taking ALL my meds as prescribed.  They exist for a reason, yaknow?   The angioplasty appears to still be working, yaaaaay!   :D
