I've got a transparencies problem
« on: June 21, 2011, 06:23:22 AM »
Ok, so I'm working on a new texture set for Calliope.  I set everything up in Daz orginally, created my .ds and .pz2 files, then brought the pz2 files over to poser to do some additional work on them.

My issue is the transparencies.  In daz, they render fine, but in poser, there is still some of the background showing.  I've attached a small render so you can see what I mean.  It's only affecting the element strings and one of the sets of wing feathers.  One set (the one giving me problems) has a reflection map with it, while the other does not and is rendering just fine.  The same goes for the element strings.  They have a reflection map.  I can only assume that there is something I am missing when using the reflections that is causing this to happen.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks

Have you set the transparency edge and or fall off? See if that help a bit.

I have the edges set, but do I need to connect the transparency image to the edges, or no? they are currently connected

if that doesn't work ten i can ask my daughter -- she used to texture a lot before second life game...lol and used transparencies too

btw I moved this to the modelling program area since it is more a question than tutorial....but once you get it to work if you can write down the steps for doing the transparency we can stick that in tuts...lol :3flower;
