I Have Found to avoid placing any older style programs in the programs directory as the newer Operating systems don't like the old tricks those programmers used.
make a directory outside the programs section and install it there normally fixes most of the Hex crashes That I was dealing with.

Very true my friend. I'm running older systems so it has no impact on me but those running Vista and up they would need to take that route.

So, don't put it in the Program Files folder but make it it's own folder on the drive? Am I reading that right, Rad?

I'll try that with Hex then because that crashing stuff is frustrating.

If he's talking about how I have Anim8or set up then yes. I failed to mention that Anim8or is a standalone exe, it can be launched from anywhere on the hdd. But it is best to put it in it's own folder with the same name so that extra scripts can be located by Anim8or with ease.

That was my bad, I tend to do that. Old age or C-Nile virus...Not sure which one.

Also fix the properties of the directory you place it in to remove the read only as that also cause it to crash.
This work with Anim8or and Hexagon in the Vista and higher microsoft OS
Example:
D:\DAZ 3D\Hexagon2

I never used ME. I was very happy with XP though. I don't know why they changed the interface on Vista. I have it on a laptop. I hate it. And then there's Win 8. I understand the interface change on that but it's definitely not for pc users. I love how they say pc's are 'going extinct'. They're not going to - better not until they make an affordable laptop or tablet that can do 3D/CG!

I uninstalled Hex and did as you guys said and it seems to work a lot better. I haven't pushed it yet, but often even by the time I got this far, it would crash. So I really appreciate the tips!!

That's what places like this are for

Haven't install Anim8or yet. But definitely will look into Hex. DAZ installed it and I haven't uninstalled it yet.
