Giveaway of the Day

Giveaway of the Day

Welcome, and how may I help you?

Come visit with all in here, have some coffee or your favorite beverage, and have loads of fun. The bar staff and keeper are always here to fill your orders. This is our gathering place where we will share greetings, pass secrets, gossip, and enjoy each other's company.

Jherrith has agreed to fire up the grill on the weekends with some of his tasty specials.....and the COFFEE will always be hot and fresh, especially with Fafnir and his bevy of waitresses.

I truly, truly feel your pain.  Where as you are dealing with the hardware side, I'm dealing with the same incompetence on the software side.  I have an entire University Academic Resource website that was coded by a programmer who thinks he is a designer.  I've been tasked with making 1000+ pages ADA compliant and mobile friendly, all within the current framework, as "we don't have the resources to do a total rewrite" per our director.  I don't think he truly understands the magnitude of the situation.  Every single page has to be rewritten anyway.  It would be easier to do a total rewrite than to try to go in an hack my way though the garbage that the programmer used  and try to bring it into compliance.

Ah The Joy of Web Sites! The Sales guy says it can do all of this (if you buy this whole Service from us.) for this tiny cost of (Insert the whole Departments budget for this Decade.) Do we get a School Discount? O.o I get a Free Mouse pad!  :likeyou:

Oh, we certainly don't have that luxury...they blow the budget on other departments..on garbage programs that don't live up to the hype and then we are stuck trying to figure out how to make them work for our needs..been dealing with 3 "programs" they purchased this year, like that...none of the 3 have integrated well...and the director is not a happy camper, hence why I don't get the "budget" to do a full rewrite of the resource site..even though that is what I am doing LOL  Gotta love the politics of the office

Safe being a relative term. Damn powers that be decided that oh you have to go back out to Oviedo and run the last cable to the DAS, fine whatever, get out there and yes no less then three hospital IT people in the way of where I have to work. :sigh:

Worked around them and carried on, the fun part is this though the lightning halo is still not connected, they have at least now got the lightning spikes and some wire ran, but not complete and not tied into the building ground system.

Hope we don't get any more rain today as that is an accident looking for a place to happen in my mind.

One for the cuckoo's nest, we have one of them new-fangled devices that read the health of the batteries for the portables. Comes with three different holders for the different types of batteries in use. Needed to check a different battery type and would you believe that the only way to swap out the holders is to take the damn thing apart to get at the locking clips :thud:

Wonder what rocket scientist decided that was the way to make the device. Oh by the way states device has no user serviceable parts inside :thud: so how do we change the cup out without taking it apart :ummm:

Indeed, thank goodness we are slightly more mechanically inclined then the average bear, and removing four screws was not beyond my scope :tearlaugh:
