Moving on to the next bit of excitement.

First up mid term exams for the kids and then the part I loathe with great intensity ... writing report cards.

The interesting part there is an extra credit question on the exam and more then half the class did not even attempt it. Including the one who came up with a new acronym to help remember the 25 pair punch down order.

 

Worse grade turned in was an 81%, the best was a 109% in other words not a single person, that also did the extra credit, got a perfect score.

O.o 81% is quite good for a group of people who you are not sure if they have been putting berries up their nose!

This week even more entertainment two days worth of site walks to upgrade the county MedCom system to GTR8000 and get off the old Quantars and Astro-Tac

A total of seven sites are getting the upgrade and boy is it going to be a some kind of fun as in "sarcasm" why because they want to reuse as much of the original install material and also keep it up and running while I am to install the new radios ... sure of course, sure, if you say so .....

Well, haven't had a chance to write up the quote for the extra parts need to do the job so this should be educational to say the least.

I took plenty of pics and notes so at least I should be able to get the shops half of the quote worked out.

Except for one small detail for the last two days I have been back doing PM's at the hotel chain. I am taking tomorrow off so will not be able to finish up. Only have seven radios that were not available to be done, as they were in use by staff.

So hopefully they are going to be able to locate and track them down so I can get them balance of the radios completed and we can call that hotel done.

I think that if they could fit their damn cell phones up there they would .... they are just like every other person I come in contact with during class and most of my day now that I think about ... can't go two steps without that damn phone in their face

Got a phone call from the boss this morning asking about what dies we have for our 12 ton compression crimp tool.

Well, long story short he was under the impression that I had certain ones which I did not, plus when he bought a second compression tool the dies that were in my case were transferred to the new tool. So there is not a "second set" of the common use dies for the work we do at the shop.

So now I need to hunt down part numbers for the dies to build out a second set and order an extra one of the odd size so either set will have all of the dies required to make any compression crimp needed.
How wonderful, hope this means that the next person doing installs will be needing the tool, more then me.

Yeah, right ... but since I keep hearing talk about site walks and quotes and now PM's and working with code plugs. I am thinking it might be in the cards for me to work my way up in the food chain.
