Title: Video Conferencing from within
Post by: DarkAngel on April 24, 2009, 04:26:55 PM
Adobe Illustrator CS4 Tip - What's This About Video Conferencing from Within Illustrator?

One of the first new features I stumbled across in Illustrator CS4 was "Share My Screen" found under the File menu. This feature is also contained in InDesign and Photoshop and other applications within CS4, but not Acrobat.

Share My Screen is a secure online meeting room, which allows real time sharing of files with others over the Web in a collaborative environment. I gave it a try the other day with one of my clients for a logo presentation.

I went File>Share My Screen, which opened Adobe ConnectNow in my Web browser. I sent an email invitation to my client from within the meeting room by going under the Meeting menu and selecting Invite Participants.

I believe that the presentation was a huge success partially because my client was so taken with the technology. He liked all of my suggested logo designs, which has never happen before with this client who is known for being quite difficult.

Correction:

"Share My Screen" is available in Acrobat 9. It's just located in a slightly different place than in the other applications.

In Acrobat, go to File>Collaborate>Share My Screen. Sorry for the misinformation. And thank you to all of those Acrobat experts who emailed me to let me know about the problem.

All my best,
