Corel Paintshop Pro X Free--still works
« on: May 22, 2012, 01:44:51 PM »
Updated 05.21.2018

Granted this is an old article but the direct link still works. Corel in conjunction with Lexar way back a few years ago were offering this.
https://www.mydigitallife.net/corel-paint-shop-pro-x-free-full-version-licensed-download/

At the bottom of the article there is also a link for some additional extras available for Corel Paint Shop Pro X

Use this link first then follow the instrctions below BEFORE the updater

TRY ME.

upgrade found here.

This is from that page:

Do note the the freeware version of Paint Shop Pro X will have a nag reminder screen to buy and upgrade to Corel Paint Shop Pro XI  every time the program is closed.

It’s possible to customize the settings to limit the frequency of the reminders to daily, weekly, or monthly, or use the following hack to remove the nag screen altogether.

1. Procedure to Remove Free Corel Paint Shop Pro X Upgrade Nag Screen
2. After installing Corel Paint Shop Pro X, run Notepad.
3. Open the following file in Notepad: C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel Paint Shop Pro X\PCUUI\Container.htm
Note: You may need to take ownership and full control of the files in Windows Vista and Windows 7.
4. Remove and erase all the text inside the file, and replace it with the following code:

Code: [Select]
<script type="text/javascript">
 location ="pcucmd://Cancel?confirm=no";
 </script>

 5. Then save your file.

The Corel applications will also install licensing service called ProtexisLicensing, provided by PSIservice, which will phone home to Corel.

PSIservice cannot be removed or else PSPX (Paint Shop Pro X) will stop working, and will persist even after PSPX is uninstalled.

Use the
[url=http://www.mydigitallife.info/how-to-disable-and-uninstall-protexis-licensing-service-psiservice-exe/]hack to remove and disable PSIservice while keeping Corel programs working properly[/url].

And finally, there is also extras available for Corel Paint Shop Pro X, which can be downloaded with the following direct download link: [url=http://www.corel.com/akdlm/6763/downloads/PaintShopPro/v10/ibr/English_PSPX_RegXtras.exe]English_PSPX_RegXtras.exe[/url]

The file in question doesn't exist in the install, the nag screen is at the start not the end on closing with no option to let the program run.  That's ok, I guess I missed it. I'm starting over from a major computer crash, thought I'd give this a try instead of installing my old pscs 2. Thank you for the links though. I think I was a bit slow coming in. :)  lol
