This is crazy people should be worrying more about food and water before toilet paper. And then having fights over toilet paper add to the insanity that this panic has created.

The Romans back in the Empire Days used sponges on a stick and rinse them out for use later. There are ways you can clean your backside just think about it.  Remember the outhouse days with corncobs?  (What can I say my Grandfather was from the 19th century and did not have indoor plumbing.  A Farmer from the horse and buggy days.)

By June this should be over with and be a memory.  Hopefully most people will learn from this and shop like I do for the month and stock up for unpredictable days that we just can get to the store or something like this comes up again.  Everything here in the desert come up in by truck or train, so along time ago I thought about it and since then I keep food in case something like this happens.  Prepping is not for just those who think the world is going to war or Sh*t Hit the Fan situations. It is for emergencies where weather or illness or some other natural occurrence prevents you from getting supplies you need.  Most people might need about 3 to 6 months of food to get through most situations.

I’m from the 20th century and we had no plumbing other than one cold tap...

Come to think of it we also used newspaper... but it had to be a daily which had the ink fixed or you could have yesterday’s headline on your botty...

If you have a yard or garden you can always burn and bury your waste in hole in the ground to keep things sanitary.  If bathroom facilities fail.  There was quite a few places here in the states during the 20 century that did not have indoor plumbing too.

I was lucky I did grow up with indoor plumbing.  My mother used to nag us kids about going to the hand pump with a bucket to get water and getting wood for the stove to have a hot bath since we used to fuss about taking a bath.  Thinking back on it I believe we deserve the nagging.

Hrrrmmmm..... Not really.
We're still discussing the current insanity, with referances to past insanitys. The TP issue seems to be the symbol of Corona's influence.  Like killing innocent cats and dogs because of the black plague, never mind it was the fleas on gthe rats that transmitted the disease. "Kill all the cats" " But the cats kill the rats and the fleas" "doesn't mattre, they are familiars" " well... they do like to rub on your leg"
*sigh*
Looks like the joke failed dramatically, never mind.  8 )
Cheers

I really like that movie Blazing Saddle.  Mel Brooks really knew how to make them.  Just like today the moron who are out there in the coronavirus panic attack would be offended by simple humor.

We try to have always 1 or 2 months ahead at home for toilet paper. But if ever we haven't enough (we never know if an "accident" will come with intestines :tearlaugh: ), there is always a solution: using old washclothes.
Of course, the bad side of the flip is to do more often washing machines, or be ready to do like washerwomen
