Well color me annoyed ... well a little bit  ... maybe

Rough draft of the dreaded Income Tax.

My first prediction was that I was going to get money back, (for the first time in over 10 years) not much as in about $700.00 now granted this was before I received the 1099 for my school teaching job.

Received that and have sat down with the inch thick forms and ginger tea to have a clear mind.

Now I did know the amount was going to change but, ....

Would you believe that the addition of $2100.00 of income has reduced the refund down to a mere $200.00

 :thud:

Well, it is better then paying in and it is in an odd backhand way better then getting a thousand or more back, because that would then mean the bloated government swamp would have been using my money for free.

And that would make me unhappy

The other bit of being annoyed.

Ye ole court appearance for jury selection.

Was never selected nor was I even called up to be cross examined. Okay fine.

They gave every one a debit card and stated it would be filled up on Friday night.

Tried to register it and it says there is nothing there .... :whatthe:

Now yes I told the truth and said my employer does pay for jury duty, but they gave me the card anyway and it is useless

Guess because I was never even called they decided that you get nothing, because your employer does pay you.

Which that logic makes no sense at all, then again if I had got anything it would turn into taxable income anyway, and the court system pays squat to begin with, so :whatthe:

They give the cards out as a JIC measure....doesn't mean they will put anything in it.

My company paid for my time off also when I had to go to court eons ago and explain to them that I'm deaf in one ear and would need to sit on the stenographers lap to hear what's going on so I'd not be a good candidate for a Jury...to which they agreed....and when I went to give the card back...they said to keep it just in case any refund for expenses is put on it......and I still have the card....and to this day....nothing is on it  :java:

Figures but as mentioned it is unlikely there would be anything of use on it.

But then again $20 is $20, can get a haircut with that :tearlaugh: ... not that you would have such a need :tearlaugh:

Obviously mine is of Asian descent ... Korean to be precise ... :pervy:

I only allow her to trim my hair, the mustache is off limits to her ... the handlebar concept of my mustache is a bit beyond her

That's great!  Please mention again when it's available.  There was another Lovecraftian manga that I failed to get.  As I recall, you found it odd that I was planning on getting it after church.  Do you remember its name?

Guillermo del Toro has been threatening to make a movie on the same thing for a long time.

Thanks!  This time, instead of assuming there would be time to go get it (it's still at the local B&N), I just clicked the Amazon link.   :sure:
