Well, the phone so far is not my favorite device, guess it is true I am from another century, since me and this modern technology is always at odds.

At any rate as mentioned did get it to finally get activated, the next bit of phone is transferring the impotent stuff (misspelled deliberately) the pictures I had backed up to the PC as it is not truly needful for them to be accessible especially considering how far back they go. I have them just not on the phone, need to move them to Drive then I could if needed access them from the phone. The contacts and phone numbers were far more important and found the trick to do that so those came across.
Some of you might be saying well why didn't you do that when you were activating, I had to call in for the activation to take place and there was not enough time to be spent on those tasks according to the assistant. Doesn't matter I did get my phone list backed up so I am not overly concerned at the moment. Started to install some of my "personal work apps" yes, there are several that I do not require this time around, mainly since I never used them in the first place, still have a few more that I will put on but it is only one or two more then we will be happy.
The most annoying thing is that I will have to call the dreaded IT people to get my work profile on it and also get it set up to accept those damn two step authentication pushes on this phone. As the account see the previous model and not the new one. So nothing is coming through for the moment. I think my work person who does the little IT work for our shop can assist there so as it is written tomorrow is another day.
 
So much fun yes, no ... no is my considered opinion, but ... according to the work wife I complain to much ... again ... She has had as much difficulty as I these past couple of weeks having to get new devices and set them up, however I try to resolve it on my own instead of running to IT right away, so even though she gets her new devices set up at the same time as mine, she is waiting on others to help her out, whereas I mange to get a great deal done on my own before I ask for help so once again ...

And the saga of the laptop goes on .. I don't know what I got but it is either a pig in a poke or the docking station is rubbish. Still get issues on the thing. Seems to be random events set it off, but the one thing that finally registered yesterday was that when I took it off the docking station it stabilized. Ye ole new boss gave me a different docking station to see if that truly is the problem. Well, the jury is still out but for the rest of the day which was only three hours it behaved.



Well to early to tell yet, although I am also realizing that living alone with no one around I tend to talk out loud all the time and yep no filter at all .... probably a bit of a problem since I am in a more open and smaller area then before and I most likely can be heard by all

It is not so much an issue "detecting it" as it is more of the stability of using the station.

Had it up and running and so far so good. Had a Google Meet conference to attend. Clicked on the link and wha-bam restarted and it went downhill from there until the new boss gave me his new docking station, he has no need of it at the moment so it was available for use.

The senior tech did find an issue that stated that the Microfluff drivers for the ethernet adaptor were "buggy" or in my words

Nevertheless so far today after I got back from a PM for the alphabet soup agency using the loaner docking station it was stable with no issue. Look forward to a second "Google Meet" invite to check it out completely.

I think we all know that any fault with most any discrete component or chip in that dock will spell trouble, at the very least.
Send your rubbish one back for replacement pronto!

Got even crazier, my senior tech had been having the same issues, though instead of fighting with Motorola IT he did the research on his own and surprise, surprise, surprise what does he find "the drivers for the adaptor" in the PC are "buggy" the websites words not mine.

At any rate he tried it on his and surprise it has now been stable for the last three days.

He hooked me up with the file yesterday afternoon and surprise now my PC has been stable for a day and a half now, and yes that was after I hooked it back up to the original docking station.

So our lovely IT department has no clue yet my senior tech figured it out and now the problem has been resolved, well, subject to further vetting that is .... however methinks someone in the company IT department needs to go back to school.

Why because I had no less than four different "reps" working on mine and twice they remoted into my PC and still managed to not fix a damn thing. How about that
