And now I find out after having gone through crap multiple times, that I have been submitting tickets incorrectly all this time.

Well, thanks a bunch for telling me folks, no wonder I disliked having to open tickets for help. I was never told how to do it correctly and I have been hitting the default contact button all this time and making my life miserable.

All right I need a professional can someone explain to me why the IRS is stating that I made an error on my return in 2020 two years later and you are just now getting to it and "oh by the way we are charging you interest anyway and no we cannot remove it".

 

However the real question is this, if according to them my taxable income is down by over $300.00 then how can the tax burden be increased by $600.00


That doesn't add up at all

Made it up to 2:03 and then it switched to another message and I was disconnected as they had closed.

It was a genuine letter from the IRS I don't fall the other learned the hard way and still cannot believe to this day that I was that stupid.

At any rate I am looking at the numbers again and I still come up with the same answers.

First off what do you mean "unexpected" that is a load of and you know it.

Second went and tried a different tack and called to try and make an appointment in person. Maybe I would have better luck doing that ... stranger things have happened ...

Well after an hour of waiting in the line for a live person to talk to I got one.

I need to make an appointment to go over this letter saying I owe.

Another 15 minutes of trying to verify who I am and so forth and then pulling up my file and now we are talking about it.

So guess what we can't fix this on the phone you will have to make an appointment.

Well, son of a finally found the correct instructions with explanations as to how to fill the SE form out, and of course they changed it and now there is no longer a short and long form they want to double tax me now frelling have only ever filled out the short form all these years previously. Dirty rat bastards

So it looks like I have to take it in the shorts again from the bastards in the "blood sucking parasite department"

The sad bit is after wading through all of the goo and to recalculate the numbers I now come up with the same number except of course for the frelling interest I am being charged for a balance due I had no idea about until this week. Doesn't quite seem right to me in any way, shape, form or fashion.

If you don't know you have a balance how can you be charged interest on it?

Guess the taxes I just turned in and received notice that they got them means I will not be getting a refund as previously expected. Granted I was only looking at less then 200 but we can kiss that good bye
