You my dear have indeed heard more than most over the years. It doesn't matter. I'm a crotchety old fart and hard like most rotten odors, hard to kill.

So I have to correct the cash the City is spending on the World Cup matches. The mayor just came up with a figure of $385 million for 6 matches with a match from both the Province and the Fed. It was originally $45-50 million total when the bid went in. Vancouver has 7 matches and they are begging the Fed to help them out at $580 million. I understand cost of living increases, rate hikes, and inflation but really? Round about $2 Billion for soccer matches? Seems a little excessive to me. I wonder if the American and Mexican host cities are taking such a hit. Might be time to become a Soccer Hooligan Fan. I don't have a lot of time study up.

That sound like a symptom of stroke. Are you a stroke victim?
I ask because I too can suffer from strokes. Mine comes from too much stress, but it is really not fun when I have an episode. For years after having my first, I didn't even know I was a stroke sufferer. Then when I got a job in the hospital in Americus GA, I had to submit to a med exam. An MRI reveal scar tissue on my brain.
"Have you ever had a stroke?" The doctor doing the examination asked.
"I don't know. Why are you asking?"
"Because you have scar tissue on your brain, and the size indicates a past massive stroke!" He said. Then he described what my episode could have been like. It brought back to memory the episode I had decades earlier. I won't go into detail, but the episode was not a mild one, and it has me being far more careful to avoid stress. It could wind up being what ends me.

No. No strokes. No heart issues. Blood pressure and cholesterol are all fine. Not over weight or diabetic. Smoke and wouldn't want to run the mile, but I live in a tower and avoid using elevators when possible. Lots of stairs. I got pretty good at them considering the damn rods they put in my back to hold my head on.

Started during Covid when people freaked out if you got too close. It's hard not to get too close in an elevator. I have replaced a lot of worn out parts over the years. I was in a lot of car and bike wrecks in the early 70's when racing was loose and med teams not as tight as they are now.

Cancer is my issue. I thought it was mostly done with 4 years ago. I had beat it twice. Different forms. I've had pains for a while and my back has been going out. That's why I starting using Ed to take me to the grocery. Never thought much about it as I creek like a screen door as it is and I'm not getting any younger. Lot's of old hardware. Then the headaches came. Hard.

I suspected it might be my past operation that I was never rehabbed from due to the damn Covid even though the area of my head has changed. I called my Doc for an appointment to find out he didn't survive Covid. My medical files were available at an insane cost per page if I wanted them from the Hospital. Nope, you can't go through them to pick and choose. Buy the archive or get a new doctor and start again. Guess what I chose? There are 2.5 million people in this city without a family doctor. I am now among them due to the death of mine.

It took pulling a few threads; I'm not influential enough to pull strings, and calling in a favour or two in order to ingratiate me with the medical system again and bounce up the list to get a doc. Still don't have my past records though. Too expensive. Turns out i've cancer in my bones now. That's going to be a problem. I've radioactive gold in my lower back now to target therapy. A bone graph from my hip to my cheek and will have to decide when to put a plate around the orbital if the current treatments don't work. Due to the work done my aches and pains are added to not lessened but I'm back in Monday for an overnighter and I've been reassured I should be feeling far better then than I am now.

I found that a good low tech hot water bottle helps with the back. Pain meds just make things worse overall and I am trying to use as little as possible. I don't get vertigo from my pain management per say. I get the screaming ice pick through the temple. That messes with the ability to stay upright. Not upright the head fills. The brain fries.
