Here you go for starters:
Where to get Blender a free modeling program: Blender .org (http://blender.org) their site is also filled with tutorials.
Then here is a nifty little site filled with learning tutorials Blender Cookie (http://www.blendercookie.com/getting-started-with-blender/) as they say on their site...take a bite you will like it.

I tried it one time and couldn't get my brain wrapped around the interface or the GUI or lack thereof of intuitive menu. Pity, it would have come in handy for use with Poser and Bryce. :eeeew:
-
I may have to check this out, had Blender gathering dust on my HD because Like most the controls kinda intimidated me.
-
I have been hearing more about this in the various rags I read and might have to see how baffle gabbed I become
-
Exquisite we do look forward to it
-
YAY you, thanks for helping with tuts here...and IF you have knowledge of your own experience on how to do things...tubes creating, other programs helpful hints then also plop them here...If we don't have a category then yell and I can create one. :thanks:
I split your post into a new one of its own for you to add other lessons of that same link. or make a new one for others.
-
I might even learn something.....
Nawww....Probably not....but it was a good thought while it lasted :java:
Keep the Tuts coming...someone will learn from them.... :cheer:
-
Really should not have those types of thoughts you know how the med staff hates getting calls in the wee hours about a patient needing attention,
Although Kianna likes it when you have those :perverted: thoughts about her

I've used blender a few times to make simple props which I imported into DAZ. Now I'm trying to make one with a moving part. I got the armatures but haven't figured out how to make them work or to have them work with the objects.
-
Like Hedd has just announced, Blender 2.79 (https://www.blender.org/download/) is now available.
Now I have just to pray for having a better material to work and finally try it - and for having patience in more :(ROFLMAO:
-
Alright, I'm in! Got Blender 2.79 b installed and running. And got the sphere obj saved and loaded into Poser Pro 2014 now. What's next?
Um, one thing didn't seem to work in the order given. ALT-SHIFT-S (release) press 1. That is supposed to make the sphere right? I got to fooling with things, and got it to subdivide and THEN I did the S then 1 thing and it did make the higher res sphere. I exported it as an .obj, and yes ya have to hit the export button on the far right. Then it saves it!
NEXT bit? (taps foot) (taps it faster)

I have been hearing more about this in the various rags I read and might have to see how baffle gabbed I become
Well, at least on Stormbringer, you'll do it FAST !!!
-
So how is it going...I sort of made a dress..went to unwrap it for uv mapping and nothing...so don't know how to map it lmao
-
Select the UV Editing tab, be sure to be in edit mode, select all (in the 3D viewport press A on the keyboard) and than press U on the keyboard. From the popup menu select "Smart UV Project" (second menu item from the top) and in the dialog click on OK. For the first item "Unwrap" you need to make seams.
-
Oh thank you so much for this...off to try it now
-
That worked perfectly...thank you so much for that
-
I did do the seams...the dress wasn't a great success...but it is all practice...I am off to start all over again.
