Playing with Blender...again!

It's been a few years since I played with Blender and decided, "what the heck!" So was looking at tutorials(again) and found one for a fruit(apples)bowl with napkin....I screwed up with the napkin(even thought I did great first time from another tutorial), so gave up on that part for now... Made the bowl and two apples but didn't like the lighting on glass bowl(I guess I'm a bit rusty, lol) so will play again some other time with that as well
But for now here are my two apples made in blender from a tutorial on youtube.. I of course added my own bit of shaping to the apples so not to look exactly like the tutorial ones.... I started this last night. Took my external drive to work with me  .....

I like Blender as a modeling program. Despite it's all singing all dancing approach I have no grasp on any other aspect of it. I use Cycles and Superfly to render in Poser. Love 'em. Can't make a reasonable shader in Blender to save my life. It's dyslexic to me after all these years in Poser. Like anything else, if I set my mind to it I could master other aspects of the program; but I'm somewhat short on motivation. Too much of Fafnir's fine coffee and my own garden produce I guess.

I like blender, I have an old 32bit computer, that I installed Zorin a lite 32 bit Operating System based on ubuntu Linux.  Blender works fine on this system the have a download for Linux based program.   Windows Vista was not working right since it was out of date and was hard to make an internet connection on this system, that is why I changed to Linux.  So if have an old 32 bit computer collecting dust you can get it running again with a Linux base system.  The Zorin OS is free to use opensource software.  You don't have to pay for it.

The 32 bit system dose run a little slow on the internet, pages do load but they are a slow, but they do load.  I find that video takes a while to load too, but at 480p it dose run quite well.   


Here is a video which there are many on YouTube that you can watch to get your 32 bit computer working again.  (My computer uses the BIOS if you have UFEI then you will need to do a little more research to load the system on your computer. )

The HP laptop here, commonly known as the piece of sh!t; runs Ubuntu. It started becomming useless with the Vista "upgrade" that I couldn't roll back so I just wiped the damn thing.  Haven't used it in a while and forgot the password when I went to power it up last month. I'll end up re-installing a newer version at some point and forget the password yet again. Might be time to start writing things down.

I can really understand why one would forget a password.  I write down quite a few of my passwords down.  There are so many of them nowadays it seems impossible to remember them all.

Which is why I use KeePass, a free program to manage passwords. All I have to remember is the one to get into the database.
