I use to use Ice Packs to lesson the pain and swelling. Worked well.

No the question was more along the lines of "Galileo thermometer?" had no remembrance of him creating one. But have refreshed the memory of the original device and think it quite cool

One of the first "accurate" thermometres. Galileo did an interesting job what with variable density floats.....
