Okay I have to go away and think on this as it didn't work...I have put the image onto a white background so you can see the black is still there.
Never mind, maybe I shouldn't be trying to do it again.

Hi Sanbie, nice to see you!
What program are you using to open your images?
If I try to import any png  on a program like PhotoFiltre, I obtain too a black background. It's because the program doesn't take care of imported png (except perhaps the PhotoFiltre version with layers).
If I try in Photoshop, I open a new doc and add the png, generally it's working. I tried simply by copy/paste the Rad's png and the resulat was a black background just like you. So I opened his image in another tab of browser and made "save image as"; it worked.

I haven't DS4 on that comp, only the good old DS3. But I don't remember that DS4 makes black backgrounds, that you turn options like Rad show you or not.
I hope it's not your DS4 making bad stuff, because it happened (I don't know now) by the past there were at random issues with the program. I was between those who had boxes in place of props or characters when reopening a scene with Poser format stuff; that was in the first version of DS4. Nothing for me after, but I saw other users with a most recent version (4.8 or 4.9) which had then that issue.

I did use Daz years ago, but only to make clothes for V4, that I had made in poser, which isn't very helpful in this...I might see if I have an earlier version of Daz in my library

I have Photoshop express on my computer so I might see what happens when I open it in that.

If you don't sing out, I have most versions going back to DS2, also once I have current render finished I can do a bit of digging in DS4.20 and see if I can help

Okay Aelin, you were right. All the images I showed before can be viewed in PS express and they come up with a transparent background, though they all have a black edging around them.
