A look at how and why the Phoenicians became the masters of the Mediterranean Sea. They came to have ports everywhere that mattered, including the northern coast of Africa and Carthage.

They were master tradesmen, artisans and sailors who went places where few others would travel. Their mastery of trading and acquisitions of wealth and luxury were probably greatly responsible for the Romans wanting to conquer them and take over their 'industry'. As I recall there was of course some noble falderal involved, but basically it boiled down to just plain Greed.

And, they were the inventors of our alphabet, which we still use today.

Frankly, I have a great fascination with the Phoenicians for oh, so many reasons. I'll try to condense it here in points.

* Not the least of them is this article: https://phoenicia.org/rigveda.html

The Rig Veda is one of the oldest recitations/documents in the world at present. It speaks of the Pani. There's a lot to read there and it
won't make a lot of sense unless you're familiar with such things. But there is a section there called:
The Meaning of the Word Pani. I would suggest at least reading that, if you're interested.

* There's also another page on this site about Dentistry and who seemed to have invented it - the Phoenicians. Additionally, there is a very old city in the very early Indus Valley Civilization (IVC) called Mehrghar, where evidence of dentistry has been found in the skeletal remains there. Ancient 'braces' and false teeth.

* Some portion of the DNA found in the Cemetarys in the early IVC was noted as 'Mediterranean types'.

That's all for now

At about 9:30 mins into this video a map is shown of the Phoenicians' routes and they pass the Pillars of Hercules going down along the coast of Africa. It is something that no one else wants to do because as it is explained: the general opinion at the time was that it was the 'end of the world' out there. But apparently, the Phoenicians knew better. So it would seem.

It wasn't some kind of cosmic jump, knowing of some other things regarding the Phoenicians and their apparent travels around the world - also their mastery of metals, dyes and craftsmanship skills in general, but what if they knew, because they had once been those who occupied Atlantis - a great and ancient sea-faring nation. And where does the most likely place for Atlantis reside in the latest findings? In what is now Mauritania - the Richat Structure, which did once have a river path from the site down to the Atlantic Ocean. The setup for ships entering into and going out of Atlantis and it's 'rings' of waterways was very similar in concept to the set-up in Carthage with the two docking areas.

See the "Down Below the Ocean" thread for information on the Richat Structure.
