Title: World machine
Post by: Aelin on January 17, 2017, 03:51:34 PM
Until today, I didn't know World Machine (http://www.world-machine.com/)
Here what the site said on World Machine:
"Powerful and flexible, World Machine combines procedural terrain creation, simulations of nature, and interactive editing to produce realistic looking terrain quickly and easily.
You can build and export high resolution heightfields, textures, and meshes for your game or rendering software."

You have a good example of terrain on Wild life - Early Forest Dweller (http://www.thefantasiesattic.net/attic/cpg/displayimage.php?pid=29719) scene, by Mtdana.
 :ty02: to show us another possibility for creation.

And 2 tutorials (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJMNG6wnk4F4RuNmhVGKVmg) on youtube.

I just finished watching the three tutorials by Shinsoj and they are very good.

This is one I can't rate because it is in french but maybe it can be helpful to Aelin.

Also the more advanced tutorials by GeekAtPlay is good.

=======================

What I would like to do for the tutorial I promised is to show how to export a mesh (obj) and the maps that can be use in DS or Poser. Most of tutorials seem focused on producing height maps for use in games, but I think an obj file is more familiar to us and easier to use, the Tut is still coming but I wanted to post these links for now.
