Re: Runtime Question

Initially, when I bought the Pioneer BluRay burners, I planned to limit each runtime to 23 gigs max.   So now, 7 years later, you might imagine that limit went to the dust bin.  And you'd be right.   So I AM still burning the occasional 25 gig BluRay storage disk.  But it is filled with .zips and .arj files, not 'installed runtimes'.  For smaller runtimes I consider REALLY important I just burn that straight to a 4 gig DVD.  Or even a CD.   Then in the disk books they go.
Back when the spinner drives were crashing left and right, PSU's popping every couple years, all those archived content sets sure came in handy.    But in those 'limited' size runtimes, every time a vendor came out with new things I buy, it went into their specific folder in the given runtime.   Which meant that 23 gig limit got flooded over every which way.   I tried sorting, moving, relocating all kinds of  things.  And OH did the confusion abound!   So, I gave that up for lost cause.  And NOW, am about to MOVE the entire set of Runtimes to a 2TB drive from the 1TB drive they are on now.Since I started using SSD's, because of YOUR using one or two on Stormbringer actually, I began collecting them.  The oldest ones will be replaced with new 2TB ones.  All the old ones will be used for backup duty for the OS and whatever else I need when the time comes.   This is made very easy with using the USB SATA dual drive bay.  I am gonna move them into BadMoonRYZEN, and move a pair of old ones out to that drive bay.500 gigs is the current boot drive.   Too small, as SOME things just have to be installed on only the boot drive to work.   I have a lot of things that fit that description.
And so, the history of my computer problems being lessons well learnt...I never depend on any ONE backup for safety.   And I DO have the expectancy of drive failure at some time.   No Guarantees against failure!
