Well, don't know what the problem looked like that was causing my trouble in radio management on Friday. Cause ye ole fair hair PM fixed it and only told me what was wrong and not where to find it and fix it on my own.

Something to the effect that the configuration file had a reference to lights and siren alerts in it and a portable does not have such a feature but a mobile does, so how did those references get in the config ... :whatthe: ... great we so love mysteries :noway:

So at last was able to get that started for the other boat.

Funny thing is that he said I have the repeaters and radios working now, can key it up no problem, here let me show you.

The dog and pony show was a fail ... it didn't work ... how entertaining. Went back to his dungeon to try and sort it out. Thought he had it figured out and came back to demonstrate ... again  ... no dog and pony show a second time

Now to truly irritate me and the senior bench tech.

We are to go out to the hospital in Celebration to finish up the MedCom install and configuration at the desk top.

The claim is that the drops are ready ... so where is our IP address' so we can finish it up.

The fair hair boy says oh just get with the contact from the last install and tell him the MAC addresses and wait for them to get the IP addresses.

Can we say not frelling impressed with this slipshod BS

Oh and to make it perfect the email comes in at 3:00 in the afternoon. So make sure you drop whatever you are doing and go out there first thing in the morning. :sigh:

That is certainly something that I need to start doing regularly

Indeed that is the troubling part ... although on this upcoming cruise (working cruise) where we are replacing their radio system. Apparently people have been known to fall overboard ... supposedly :iminnocent:

That might work.......
After all you'll be busy fixing all the managers errors, and can't be faulted if the "overboard alarm" doesn't go off.....

Another one of those right hand meet the left hand days.

Went out to Celebration as we were informed that they were ready for us .... NOT

Got out there and what do we find, yes they had a line out on the floor to the desks.

Problem number one ... they were not patched all the whole from the radio down to the desktop.

Excuse me ... I thought you said that you had the lines ran and patched all the way from point A to point B.

Again .... NOT

The cool part was that the supervisor for the ED department followed us around and made things happen to the best of his ability which means that we at last got proper support.

The only problem is that it was still not working by days end.

Why, well heard at the end of day that in addition to us trying to add new devices to their network, they meaning their IT department decided to add new security protocols to the network.

Which means that with us trying to add new devices at the same time ... :rat-atat: ... not working at all.

See you tomorrow morning :sigh:
