UNsure, I kinda like the one figure many characters concept the Genesis promised, and sorta delivered on. That versatility, at Gen8 resolution, would be impressive.

Hmm. About the 8K textures. I have a utility called JSPlacement that generates 8K textures, which I have used in DAZ Studio 4.10 (my current version), but not optimized for Iray. It works for 3Delight. I added the images to some 3Delight Shaders to make HD Shader Mods. Slows the render time down a bit, but nothing my computer cannot handle. I can also reduce the pixel size to lower sizes. such as 4K and lower, using Windows Picture Manager, or Windows Paint. Seems PD Howler 11.4 cannot import such high resolution images, but even so I can handle up to 6K. But since DS4.10 can handle the 8K size, I decided to try it with the 3Delight versions of textures, and was pleasantly surprised. You guys may have seen some of my work using them. I'm planning to create my own set of shaders to offer up soon for other users to grab soon.

G9 it is then, just as I supposed. The new Hivewire figure is ready to drop and DAZ isn't a fan of competition. 8K textures with 5 maps per character? That's a lot of RAM and you haven't done anything yet. If both sexes are in the same mesh there must be a lot of extra polys one won't use at any given time hiding beneath clothing. My guess is the want their mesh to work well for industry. Hobbyists need not apply. After all, most vfx these days are game engine. Take a look at house of the wyvern (I refuse to call a 2 legged winged beastie "dragon") which is full of vfx almost entirely done with Unreal engine.

Agent for a guy that says his laptop is under powered; if you are using 5 8k maps per character before loading anything other than the figure and can still work effectively when you add other stuff to your scene; you aren't that hurtin'.

Park  My rig isn't that underpowered but the real hold up for me is it took one try at 4.20 and crashed on loading. May grab the presale anyway just because that price going forward will be ridiculous. And I do plan to upgrade my comp soon. Made the mistake of skipping in the past and my wallet badly regretted it later lol.
