Good afternoon!
It was a fight all the day to go on internet. At job, but I know also in homes all around the town.
I just given the photo but I won't give clue to find me. One day maybe, but not now. We even passed in the journal today and no, no possible clue from there :psycho:
Team is ready but in the same time we have still details to end Sunday before the beginning. Cross fingers for us!

Ok. I give up. This is going to get me into trouble no doubt, but just what the heck are hushpuppies? There used to be shoes by that name. They had a beagle or a weiner dog or some such thing as a logo. Just what exactly are you deep frying and why do they need to be silenced?

Maybe I should stick to the coffee this morning. I'm getting a little out there for this early in the am.
PDG you are not the only one thinking shoes when ever you here Hushpuppys lol

Left over dough, meat, and sometimes gravy,  mixed together, deep fried, cooled.  Kept on the table so when your dogs start complaining their not getting "table food", you toss one of the biscuits and say Hush puppy.
1800's Mid-Atlantic and southern Untied states mostly.  Some northerner ate one, asked what it was, was told Hushpuppy.  Anecdotal, unsure of veracity, but "commonly" held.
Cheers

I found that on Google, as it is a true story. I did not read that story though. I read a Jack London story that used it as part of the tale.
Apologies. Not disputing you, as you are right about that. Just not what I am looking for. Just do not wish to read all the stories by London over again just to see where I first found the line. To give proper credit for the inspiration for my song, I need to know which story it was that I read.
DAZ Studio, Bryce, Poser, Wings 3D, Howler, Blender, PSP, Hexagon, MSO PowerPoint & Word, just a few of the programs I use.

OK I got it. Lot like deep fried corn bread.

Love me my crab cakes. Clams I used to eat steamed or deep fried in batter. Mmmmmm Deep fried clams in batter. Damn; I'm getting hungry. Clam cakes would be good. Used to dig them on the beach behind the house. Just look for the holes in the sand when the tide is out.

Like lobster but I won't go out of my way for it. Used to feed it to all the friends and relatives that visited when I still lived back east. Scallops and lobster came from the back yard. Literally. We had a scallop bed in the bay behind the house and set lobster pots in the sea beyond the bay. I gave up the licences to my nephew years ago.

Lobster and shrimp were "poor people" food. When we were in school we used to trade sandwiches made with lobster or shrimp on thick home made bread for those plastic cheese slices on sliced "Wonder" bread. "Rich people" food. By the time I got to grade 10 I just ate in the local tavern. I had a job so it was a big dinner plate of fries and gravy with a picture of draft for lunch. Two pictures and I didn't go back to class and would have to hitch hike home if I stayed too long and missed my bus. It happen often till I got my license and just drove. No drinking and driving lectures please. That was more than 60 years ago. Times have changed.

No worries Cleve. However, considering sub-titular meaning, I'd check Londons "Call of the Wild". If memory serves, there's a scene where the protaganist understands the neaby wolves.  might give you a starting point.  Cheers
