What version of DS has to be used to get the new DAZ file format AND Genesis 8, 8.1?   Cause I still want to work with Genesis 8 stuff.

And the pow(d)er (puff) that BE refuses to get her fat foot off Posers neck and let their own Python 3 module be compiled and distributed with Poser 12.    I do believe it has existed for about 4 years now....since 12 beta.

For the sake of all reading your words Cleve, I will repeat this bit.   BRYCE can NOT be installed without it going to DAZ 3D for update, and when it does, you get the stuff I was talking about in the long reply to you.   There is no mistaking what program does this and now all the DAZ software goes to the DAZ site and updates to this tailored version that forces use of CMS/DIM and will not function without the CMS running and logged into DAZ.

When you install a program such as Daz or Bryce, you need to load the dowloader. Then all you need to finalize the installation when you decide to do it, it's to enter online the serial number. That's all. I can use Bryce or DS4 offline. After, I admit I didn't go further than DS4.8, and even with help I was able to find back the installer for DS4.6 - the only one working version for me, like it's not calculating all moves I do in the program, even a simple move of camera.
For Poser 11, yes you have to be connected to launch it each time you have closed the program or your comp from internet. That's why I'm using Poser 10.

I think it must be DS4.8 or 4.9 for Genesis 8; probably the 4.9.

I use Poser Pro 2014 all the time now.  Because even Genesis 2 M/F is way better than ALL Poser Figures are.  While they CAN look good it does not hold up going from pose to pose or angle to angle.   I bought ALL the Poser Figures, and compared to Genesis 2, they are all low grade.    Genesis 2 thru 8 have had over 25 years of experience poured into their methods of deforming mesh and texturing.  There is not a single Poser figure that can lay claim to all of that.   DSON works fine in PP 2014, and Genesis 2 does great.  I USE IT.  !!!

And on that note....Let me start by saying...what a great morning it is here....Nice and cool...and it will remain that way for most of the day....I have NO PLANS but Lorna is going to a cookout with some of her High School friends (All who are 50+ like she is)

I'll be here with Oz and the kittens....doing something productive....maybe....but nothing to do with the computer....I get trapped on it and nothing else gets done LOLOL
