Mornin' everybody. Hope your day goes well. Looks like rain but I'll believe it when I see it. Today is watch the ground shake day as I put the network on bake the sim mode. When all the fans get cranking I can feel it through my feet in the next room. Glad electricity is included in my rent.

Sounds yummy Fafnir.

Mornin' all.  Got up a bit ago.  Seems there has been a change of plans with a good friend.  Connie won't be going up to see her sister for a good bit.  Hate those early mornin' calls, but can live with them.  On the other hand . . . . .

So far the telemarketers are behaving themselves.  Only good thing is that if call has a NM area code its one of ....... THEM!!!!!   :rat-atat:     I know its not nice ....... but I would still like to do that to the lot of them.  On the other hand, I am awake and mobile.  Think I'll work on some more poser, then might edit/write a bit more.

Was going to vent on my #!%^&&* grandson, but I'm in too good a mood, though that is subject to change if he calls back.
Hipshot

Right, 'ere we go.  Roll cross country and go through the ditch . . . fire main gun to look . . . Oooops.  Is it supposed to do that?

Well the weather stayed relatively cool and I got my sims run and rendered. For the most part anyway. Dr. Ho and his foot massage pads got nothing on this desk with all the boxes cranked up. The fans are in balance. There are just a lot of them. Sounds like the inside of an industrial HVAC unit sitting here. I need the cool weather to do the work. This apartment doesn't have air-con and there is little circulation. Keeping everything under 45c in these boxes is easier said than done.

Have you added any new programs that may have slowed down your start up time.  I've gone in and cleaned my startup config a number of times due to newly added programs that think they have to startup when the computer turns on.  Use to be a time way back when they would ask if you wanted it to be included with startup.

Right, I call those 'nuisance programs'.   No new ones in startup.   If I shut the rig down, power off, every day it would be easy to pinpoint the cause.   I don't.  So, I deal with not so simple.  :)

McG; when SSDs fry it is usually instantaneous and I have yet to see a recovery program to access the info stored on the drive. It should be possible though. I suspect, like TL stated; that you may have more stuff added into your startup routine by driver software or those foolish RGB lighting programs that seem part of everything these days.

Good to know in advance what the SSD's are likely to do when they head off to Neverland.    No moving parts is great.   They "should" last forever, right?  Ha.  Right.
The only RGB lightshow thing I still use is the same one that controls the CPU Fan.  Can't do without that one.  There is one motherboard LED bank that runs on its own.  Through the BIOS, and I have no applet to mess with that, so I leave it on.  (shrugs) no biggie right?
I am to the place there is an unidentified malicious program that's slipped in.   Knowing how they can be, I will take it all offline and do the long deep scan to find whatever gremlins it can.

Though I was about to nod off in fatigue, having just got home from a long tiring visit to the VA Med center.... I forgot to mention that it was Windows that balked on startup.   So, I told it to fix itself, and that it DID.  Took a while.  Maybe ten minutes.   For BadMoonRYZEN that seems slow to me.   Normal cold start is about 30 seconds to usable desktop.   When it just hangs around with the BIOS screen showing for a minute, I know something's wrong.   Windows did not say exactly what was messed up, and I can't find it in the logs.   Hm.   All my stuff did start when it fixed whatever went wrong.  I just wanna know what it actually fixed!
Sir Knight, PDG, any thoughts?   Ah, one more thing.  I have not shut off, down, put to sleep nor restarted the rig since it finally started that time.   The counter shows 5 days, 10 hours, 6 minutes, 0 seconds UP time (since last BOOT up) right now.
