I am using both, at the moment...I've always used Daz and am just learning how to use poser.  So I should copy over the runtime that has all my gen 4's loaded (the one inside poser) over into Daz?  Just want to make sure I have this clear before I do so.  I was able to load her into Daz from the poser runtime without any problems...the problem didn't occur until I switched back over to poser and tried to load her into there.

My goal here is to eventually get rid of Daz...but I cannot do that until I've figured out how to save the textures that I create (primarily clothing, tho I am working on one character, if I can ever get all the kinks worked out) in poser.  I can save them in Daz for both, but have no idea how to save in poser for both, which was to be my next question LOL

Ah OK
No You don't need to copy the whole Runtime just that folder !DAZ to the Daz Studio Runtime /Library Directory.

Nope Poser Does not Make Daz Material Files  But You can Use PZ files inside DAZ  but They will have to be Modified to look as good in DAZ  and Poser use diffrent material scales  is why You find  things duller in DAZ vs Poser Material settings.

If that is why this happened, that will be an easy fix.  Thanks :)

Ok, so if I can only make the pz2 files, that is fine.  My main concern is how do I save a pz2 file?  I've looked around and just cannot figure out where to do so.  I have a set I'm working on, that I started in Daz, then brought over to poser to "liven" it up some, and fix some things.  I've got it where I want it, mostly, but have no idea as to how to save it now.

OK This is the Best Info I have on How to do it.

If anyone is in search for the answer, here is the process I'm currently using.

1. I made sure my figure was selected.
2. Went to the Materials Room
3. Selected 1 of its 10 materials (my figure has 10 separate materials)
4. Created a node for it (New Node -- 2D Textures -- image_map)
5. Left the image source as "None"
6. Select both the Poser Surface node and the blank imageMap node
7. Right-click and choose "Apply to all"
8. Hold the SHIFT key and click on the "Remove detached nodes" wacro button
9. Clicked on the "+" sign in the Materials Library to bring up the "New Material Set" prompt
10. Named it something descriptive such as "Remove Textures"
11. Selected "Material Collection" option (as opposed to "Single Material")
12. Under the "Select Mateial" tab, I left ALL the materials checked/selected
13. Clicked "OK" to save
14. Converted the mc6 file by changing the line "mtlCollection" to read "figure" then clicked on "save". Went back and changed the extension of that file from "mc6" to "pz2".
15. Transferred that pz2 file to the Pose Library.
16. Went back to the Pose Room and loaded the figure, applied a MAT Pose texture to it, rendered it to make sure the texture took, then removed the texture by applying the "Remove Textures" MAT Pose that I just created and converted.
17. I rendered my figure again and this time the MAT Pose texture I previously applied was gone! The figure retained it's original "no texture" look! SUCCESS!!

O.o You will be doing something like this but Saving Your texture as a new Material setting.
