I use to use Ice Packs to lesson the pain and swelling. Worked well.

Wow, he is feeling SO good that I am having to look for him pretty often when I am up.  He *IS* a Cat, after all.   And now, not NEEDING me for comfort and warmth, he is totally asserting himself as boldly independent!   LOL!  I have to warn others to keep the back door tightly closed, if it pops open from a wind, he is OUT there!   Now he has tons of excess energy and is really enjoying it.  I have to play with him for a while every day just to get him unwound a bit.  :oD   Oh he still sleeps a lot, as cats do.  But he can be anywhere at all in the house and he curls up and snores himself to sleep, Ha!

I don't know how old Mogwai is, but the fact that he is actively playing is a good sign he has a lot of youth in him.

I still play daily with Cookie Baby, and she thoroughly enjoys it. That's really good for a 14 year old cat.

Mogwai had his 12th birthday last month!   I sang him happy birthday  till he meowed me to shut up.  ;o)   He got plenty of his fave treats, and also that visit to his Doc.   Still have to get that dental workup done for him, but it's coming.
