:dancing_skeleton: This is how we are feeling at home...LOL My daughter Dawn got some wonderful new a bit earlier and it was so wonderful that I scraped up every bit of coins and the $2.00 I had to go to the store and gather up something nice to make for dinner.

We have been unemployed since 2008 and although she has tried over and over to be utterly disappointed and even called a deadbeat daughter for not having a job...what did they want her to do--go hold the cheap businesses until they employed her?   :thud: We learned from an attorney that I had applied for work at that being at 1 employer for eons did not mean what it used to mean, this day and age it meant that if you got hired, even entry-level you still needed to get paid the going wages for those years tenure.

Jobs did not want to pay for the experience...her 13 years with the employer we had was a hindrance regardless of experience. She got word today that she is hired...and starts on the 25th  :happydance:

She getting to do the same job we had in 2008! She has a job at our local sports place ---Sports Connection as one of their screen printers. Her experience is what they wanted. Now she needs to find her old CorelDraw program from way back then and hope it installs into her w10 comp. Cause we sure don't have any way to get a newer version.

So just to let you all know that we actually had some good new for once, not the big disappointments that we have been cursed with. :champagne: :dualknight: :sidetoside: :dk2:
Fear not,
You are never alone,
I am there to comfort and guide you...
Always.

:drinkonus: congratulations!  Now I am pretty certain that Corel Draw's PSP 9 should work on Windows 10 because my husband runs JASC PSP 9 on Windows 10 and that's way before the Corel version [and I use it on win 7, and I still prefer it to  anything updated - save in aligning text, which is the one reason I run the Corel version! that and a few funky picture tubes.] And if you can't find it, try here for free versions: http://www.oldversion.com/windows/paint-shop-pro/

Congrats! Hope things are looking up.

CorelDraw, haven't seen that in quite awhile. Inkscape has a free version similar to the old CorelDraw. It's my go to for line/vector art. The UI leaves a bit to be desired, but has a ton of features and tutorials online to get started.

Woo Hoo! Way to go! We've had our own unemployment saga, though not as long as yours! And it is finally over, as well, so we celebrate with you! If she is needing Vector drawings, then Inkscape will be the best thing for her to go to  (as said above), if she can't use her CorelDraw.

May all your news be good news for the rest of the year!

Congratulations.

If CoralDraw is not running try if it is possible to run it in compatible mode (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/make-older-apps-or-programs-compatible-with-windows-783d6dd7-b439-bdb0-0490-54eea0f45938).

I'm looking to go back to work also, and yes, it has been a long time for me too. It is good to know that people like me can still be hired. I have multiple skills that I can bring to a job, and had even made a name for myself with more that a few of those skills. Top of the list is the determination to get a job done right the first time, and not have to go back and correct any mistakes.
Congrats to you and your daughter! I wish her the best of the best! May she make herself indispensable to her employer!
